    Synopsis

    The Call
An emergency operator receives a desperate call from a kidnapped teen, and races to locate the young victim while facing a terrifying killer from her own past in this thriller from director Brad Anderson (The Machinist, Session 9). Jordan Turner (Halle Berry) is a 911 operator in the Hive -- the bustling Los Angeles headquarters for emergency operators. Her job is extraordinarily stressful, though the camaraderie she shares with co-workers Flora (Denise Dowse) and Marco (José Zúñiga) helps Jordan to stay sharp and focused during those long nights on the phone. The veteran operator experiences a debilitating bout of self-doubt, however, after making a thoughtless mistake that results in the brutal murder of a young girl at the hands of a sadistic prowler. Six months later, Jordan is taking a group of young trainees on a tour of the Hive when an inexperienced operator receives a frantic call from Casey (Abigail Breslin), a terrified teen who is locked in the trunk of a speeding car after being abducted in a parking lot. Unfortunately, Casey is calling from a disposable phone with no chip, making it impossible for the operator to trace the call. Instinctively taking over the situation, Jordan does her best to calm Casey so that she can provide clues that will help authorities, including Jordan's police-officer boyfriend Paul (Morris Chestnut), identify the car and rescue the frightened abductee. With each passing minute the danger grows, and the hope for a happy outcome fades. Meanwhile, when the kidnapper (Michael Eklund) finds Casey's hidden phone, an ominous exchange with Jordan leaves her convinced that he's the same man who killed the other young girl six months prior. Horrified to discover just what's at stake should she fail to save Casey, the haunted operator takes the situation into her own hands, only to realize she may have unwittingly become the killer's next victim. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

This movie is a decent thriller which draws you into the fast paced police call from a kidnapped teenager. The film stars Halle Berry (Jordan Turner), a 911 operator who begins the movie on a call from a teenager who is reporting a hot prowl. Turner feels that something she said or didn't say to the teenager during the call leads to the girl's death. Jordan gets a second chance when she receives a call from another young girl who has been kidnapped and is being held in the truck of a moving car by a madman. The movie follows Jordan as she strives to save the girls life. The movie ending is not cliche. Blu-ray in 1.85:1 format with many extras.

A very well told-story of a Los Angles 911 Call Center Operator who just had a “hard-time” coping with the emotional strain of the job. This film has an exceptionally high tension story-line that is very well-acted and superbly directed. Halle Berry was at the very-top-of-her-game – she should have gotten an Oscar for an Actress in a Leading Role.. And in the end the “Very-Bad” Guy got his just reward – sometimes just dues can be rather permanent.

It's been several years since I've seen a thriller movie with this kind of nail biting appeal. Will hold your attention from beginning to end, without a doubt! Excellent, except for the current prices. I think $29.00 for a disc is crazy, but I will definitely buy it when the price drops to a reasonable level.

I didn't get a chance to see this in theaters and was skeptical about it but I heard people say good things about it and I was pleasantly surprised at how good this was. Usually WWE films aren't great but this one was probably the best to date. Good story decent acting and good action scenes make for a good movie.

Halle Berry is great, as is Abigail Breslin. Great pacing, I was never bored. The villain was creepy, which is a good thing. My only complaint is that I wish Morris Chestnut was in more scenes, he's a cool actor.

My overall opinion of this movie is its a great suspense thriller, If you like suspense you will like this. Some parts were predictable or should I say a little far fetched. Overall, a great movie. Halle Berry played an excellent part in this film.

I love this movie! Halle played her part very well. This plays great in my DVD players, and I love being able to access it online to watch when I'm not at home, instead of having to carry a DVD with me.
