this 3rd big-budget adaptation of C.S. Lewis' book series the Chronicles of Narnia is a fun, adventurous family film. the plot is not as tight in this film compared with the previous two. however, this is due to the story itself, which comes from Lewis' book, and therefore is not really a criticism of the film directly. this film takes place on ships and islands. it fits well into that high-seas adventure genre, along with films like the Pirates of the Caribbean series. however, this film has a style that is more restricted to "family" entertainment, meaning it will probably not appeal to a broad range of adults without children. for fans of the Narnia book series it is a must-see and this edition offers a nice collection of bonus features. this film is very "clean" even for smaller kids; however some of the more suspenseful battle scenes, including some mythical creatures, might be too intense for very young children.

    Outstanding Adventure Film

This is by far the best effort to date on the Narnia Series. Very few liberties were taken with the literatary masterpiece that is: Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Douglas Gresham, a descendant of the author (C.S. Lewis) and keeper of the Narnia kingdom was on hand to make sure the movie adaptation stayed close to the original. He has a cameo appearance as a slaver. We saw the Movie on the big screen in the 3D version and I thought the limited 3D sceans added to the realism. Ideally you should read the book first and then see the movie on the big screen, but if these options are not open to you, you will still enjoy and benefit from seeing the Blue Ray Version. This work is meant to fire the imagination, build your courage, strengthen your faith in the great Alsan -- who is not safe, but He is good.

I read the Chronicle of Narnia when I was growing up as a child so I was excited to relive the adventures when I bought the trilogy. This is the 3rd movie in the trilogy. I felt that the cinematography in all 3 was breathtaking -- the natural beauty and clarity in which we saw the magical land was just stunning (like much better than Avatar quality fantasy-land). This film however lacked the flow of the first 2 in the series -- it seemed that the director took out a few essential dialogues that wouldn't have lengthened the film by much but would have helped the beginning of the film by allowing viewers to form a good initial impression of Eustace and the trio's transition to Narnia. Overall I think this is a wonderful film for children and adults. There are a lot of life lessons learned in the chronicles of Narnia.

"The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" is an example of how Hollywood can take a children's book from over fifty years ago, and make an adaptation that is both relevant today and interesting to watch. This third film shows all the promise that the Narnia series had--it's a shame that Disney gave up on the film series after the second release. Overall, the third film is engaging to watch, the cast intriguing, and the cinematography breathtaking. This edition contains the standard DVD release, Blu-Ray, and digital copy. I normally don't buy these triple dips, but the Blu-Ray was nice to have for the special features and "Making of..." documentaries. If you haven't experienced this film or the previous two, you must make it a priority to see them--it is a great experience.

a Fantasy movie for all Families

Its a fun fantasy film series succeeded by The Lion Witch and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian. Yes they are based on religious books, but just as with the Golden Compass movie you don't know you are watching anything religious or non religious. You can enjoy it for what it is. Though there are times in film where the children and everyone else are faced with temptation, and the White Witch ( devil figure) appears in a green mist. Other than that it is a well done film, that can teach a lesson while keeping the interest of everyone. It moves faster than the first which was pretty slow paced.

What can I say? For $5 I got a Blu-Ray disc of an amazing movie. I normally don't buy straight Blu-Rays, but I couldn't pass up this one for the price. Hopefully, by now you've seen any of the Chronicles of Narnia series. As a lifelong fan of the books, I feel that the latest movies did a fantastic job, and I wish they would have kept going instead of rebooting the franchise (again). But this is one of the best movies out there for the whole family. If you manage to see this discounted and have a Blu-Ray player, don't miss out!

I am a huge fan of C.S. Lewis and the Chronicles of Narnia. I have read the series on several occasions. I was thrilled when the movies started being released because the story is just that good. I highly recommend them. Having said that, "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" is strengthened as it is a part of an amazing series but left alone feels incomplete. If you do plan to watch it be sure to watch "the Lion, the Witch, and the wardrobe" and "Prince Caspian" first.

The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader is the best movie to come out of the Narnia series. The movie is entertaining and has an excellent message that is in line with Biblical teachings. I never have been a fan of fantasy-world type of movies, but I gave the first Chronicles of Narnia movie a chance because of a friend's recommendation and liked it enough to watch The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader, which was thoroughly impressed it. Can't wait to watch it again in 3-D. Highly Recommended!!!
