Wii's Best FPS
Posted .Wii finally has a FPS multiplayer game and its quite impressive. Firstly, single player has a story like many FPSs, betrayed or left alone to fight by yourself against possessed humans or alien creatures and to defeat them all, but its still fun to play through. The reason to buy this though is for the multiplayer; it's extremely addictive and halo-like. The only problem is the controls can be a little frustrating since you have to aim with the wiimote, but once your past that its a amazing game.

Not a next gen shooter but quite palatable
Posted .I have been playing The Conduit for 2 weeks, and I have just finished the game, so I think I have seen enough to write a review that can accurately portray the game. Before I start, let me say that I have played several shooters on the PS3, (Resistance: Fall of Men, Resistance II, Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid 4), as well as a couple on the Wii (Resident Evil The Umbrella Chronicles, Resident Evil 4 [my all-time-favorite game], Call of Duty:World At War), so I think that I do have a good grasp of what a modern shooter looks like. Having said that, I have to say that many reviewers have been a little harsh on The Conduit. Yes, I agree that if I will say that the quality of the game is equal to the quality one can find in Uncharted, or Metal Gear Solid 4, or even Resident Evil 4, I will be stretching it. Certainly, The Conduit is not that magnitude of a game, as it lacks character development, memorable punch lines, and overall immersing game play. However, the game is a quite good shooter that delivers a fairly satisfying experience. The graphics are not "next generation" but they are not bad either. The story development is by no means unique, but it is not entirely boring. What is boring and completely uninteresting is the music themes within the game. Except the music theme at the beginning of the game, which is very good, the rest of the music themes are actually distracting, interfere with the player's immersion into the gameplay, and frankly, the only thing they add is sound pollution. Several reviewers said that a problem with this game is that you fight the same enemies over and over again. I will disagree with that statement. There are several different enemies throughout the game. Certainly the enemies are as diverse as the enemies in Resident Evil 4, Resistance: Fall of Men, and Uncharted. However, the game has a few bosses and the ones that are there are not very exciting (they just take more damage before they die). Also, a couple of reviewers stated that the environments are always the same (narrow passages) so weather you are in a building or on the street you get the same feeling. Although I do think that there is some truth to this statement, due to the fact that The Conduit is a linear game (there is only one straight path), I think that the environments look very different and you get to fight enemies in diverse areas and several open areas, in buildings with stairs and rooms with different layouts, out on the streets, etc. The strongest advantage of The Conduit is its multiplayer mode. Online fights are very exciting and last about 15 - 20 minutes. If you are interested in an engaging online shooter, The Conduit is a great choice. The frame rate is simply flawless and a plethora of online players will be there to keep you busy any time you decide to take the fight online. Overall. I think the game deserves at least a 7.5 metacritic score (I would give it an 8.0 but certainly not 8.5 or 9.0). I think the asking price, $49, is a bit too much. In my opinion the fair price for this game would have been $39. If you are a FPS enthusiast and only own a Wii, I think you should give The Conduit a try. If you own a Wii and PS3 or a 360, it would be wise to pass and invest your money to a shooter on a next generation console.

One of the best looking games on Wii.
Posted .i've been looking foward to this game since they first announced it, and when i got to play it awhile for the first time it's definitely one of the best wii titles i own. the graphics are fantastic being a wii-exclusive title; they do not run neck and neck with the visuals of an Xbox 360 or PS3, but it's darn close. they really went all out with the lighting, textures, and overall look of the game. and it really stands out a lot better when run in 480p. I'm having a great time just trying out all of the alien weapons and blasting through the endless hordes of aliens and FBI agents (it's just fun to play in general!). there is some bonus content that you can unlock by completing certain objectives throughout each level like concept art (which looks great) and cheats. the multiplayer modes are also a really great addition to the game, especially when you have 12 people all going at it at once! not to mention all of the custom options to choose from. you can tweak just about everything to your liking, like the controller layout, turning sensitivity, running speed, and even the HUD is totally changeable. I was kind of disappointed with the length of the game (there's only nine missions). the frame rate also takes some dives here and there (but that's mostly if there's a lot of lighting effects and action going on). the controls can be a bit of a hassle at first; you might have to mess with the controls a bit to get it to your liking, but thankfully customization is this game's saving grace on that issue. Overall, this game is DEFINITELY a must have for wii owners. save for some (very) minor issues, this game goes down as a 10/10 for me.

Best FPS for the Wii that we have waited for!
Posted .I have been watching this game since it was announced at the many different game shows and could not wait for it's release. Reasons for my wanting this game included tight controls, a graphical presentation for mature Wii gamers, and a large multiplayer experience. I have to say this game did not disappoint. From the moment I started it I couldn't put it down. Each mission I completed made me want to play the next one. I will say that this game will keep me busy for a long time. Some of the good things: The controls in this game are the best by far for any Wii FPS. High-Voltage Software included so many customization options that you can come up with virtually unlimited combinations for the control scheme. Different buttons can be mapped to different actions. If you don't like which button jumps, then change it, that simple. The graphics in this game are phenomenal! Not on the same level as Super Mario Galaxy, but for a mature FPS, extremely good. Textures are crisp and animations are fluid and there are a variety to see. This game definitely has tried to get as close to Xbox 360 and PS3 graphically as the Wii will allow. Multiplayer is not only fun, but addictive. There are a multitude of options to choose from and will keep you busy for days. Make sure you have a broadband connection to enjoy the full effects of multiplayer. Some of the bad: The game is short. This game can be completed in around 6-8 hours just running through. If you take time to gather the hidden items in each mission, you might be playing around 10-12 hours. This game is a tad difficult. I found myself dying quite a bit. The AI in the game is fairly intelligent and will hunt you down. Still, easy to overcome as you become accustomed to controls. Summary: Overall, despite some of the shortcomings, this game has set the bar high for Wii FPS games to follow. The controls are the tightest of any Wii FPS title and the graphics are some of the best to grace the Wii. If any Wii owner is looking for a hardcore FPS experience for the Wii, make sure to pick up the Conduit!

Best First Person Shooter yet, for Wii
Posted .When I first started playing The Conduit, I found the controls to be very fitting. The aiming is great with the Wii remote and the motions for grenades and melee attacks felt very fluid and natural. However hitting and enemy with the melee attack can disorient your aiming momentarily, but, if you think about it, that would probably happen, really. Even though I did not use them much, the customizable controls were very easy to use. Instead of quitting your mission to change the options to fit your gameplay and going back to test them, you can customize the controls in-game without having to go back to the options screen. I liked that the game offered many original weapons that you would not find in any other game. The game has a pretty good idea for a story, but some events are predictable. I found myself sometimes confused with the story because the dialogue of some parts is unclear. You shouldn't worry about anything being to easy because quite a few parts are challenging and there is a difficulty option in the campaign mode. However, it is disappointingly too short, less then 10 hours of gameplay, but you can always go back and find the secrets and unlockables. Other than that, there is not much to come back playing this game for. Fortunately, there is online, with up to 12 players - free for all or team deathmatch, and more. Its no Call of Duty, but it is still pretty good for Wii. You can customize the looks of your online player. Overall this is a must for Wii, there aren't many core games like this. This game was made well and it is worth trying out.

Best FPS for Wii to date
Posted .I waited a long time for this game to be released and wasn't disappointed. When I played The Conduit I felt like I was playing a FPS on any console. Sure, the graphics aren't Xbox 360 or PS3, but there's more to a game than just graphics. I've played games since the 80's on both console and PC. The original DOOM was a great game and it had low resolution, but I wouldn't give the game bad marks simply because it has bad graphics. In fact, The Conduit has the best graphics on Wii I've seen so far. The blur effect when reloading, the environmental effects and response are very good. The weapons aren't too varied, grenades, guns, grenade launchers, rifles and rockets, in varying human and alien forms, but they're fun. The single-player campaign is quite short, but I'm playing it through again to find the hidden messages and disks in the levels. It's nice that you can view the mission stats to see if you've collected everything. If you liked the gameplay of Resident Evil 4 (Wii Edition), you'll like The Conduit. I haven't tried the online multiplayer yet, that's next on the list...

best FPS for the Wii, so far
Posted .Somewhere along the way, game developers decided that all video games should be 10 hours or less. Well, The Conduit falls under the set maximum. That's my only gripe about this game, its length in gameplay. However, online play is available. Yet, I haven't tried the online part, but I have read plenty of reviews that say its mediocre. But there are positives for this game, and they are as follows: great story line, great voice acting, great visuals, great selection of weapons to blast many violent enemies, and various technologies in the game. The main technology is the ASE (or All Seeing Eye) which contributes greatly to your completion of this game. I would give this game an exact score of 4.8, which could have been a perfect score, if only the game were longer. So, this is a DEFINITE buy for any Wii owner who wants a 'shooter' game with a great story. Just make sure who ever gets it isn't too disappointed when the game ends, because it won't take long. But, once again, that's why online play is available.

Great Game 4 Wii
Posted .I bought this game at my local Best Buy Store and am very satisfied with this game. The graphics blew me away considering the fact that the wii only supports 480i and 480p resolutions. it looks great. the plot and charectors in the story are awesome. It is also wii speak conpatable so you can talk to your friend in multiplayer while playine the game. The thing i had frushtration about is that the way you look around sometimes while theenimy is attacking you and you try to turn around fast your spinning cuts off and you can't move because the wii remote cant see the sensor bar. But that only happends sometimes. it is a wonderful game and is great if you like halo because the conduit is halo on the wii.
