    Surprisingly Deep

Great deal on a surprisingly deep and intelligent movie -- one of my favorite CGI family movies since "Meet the Robinsons". It's not just some dumb repetitive "Dad doesn't trust Daughter's fancy new Boyfriend" story; it actually has a lot of nuance and good messages about transitioning beyond traditions, but not being so farsighted as to foolishly rush into the future without pause or a plan. There's so much in life that needs the openness and willingness and happiness to actually embrace and encourage "change" as a form of "evolution"/"growth" ... but also we need to motivate and encourage ourselves to be willing to question traditions and to look back and re-learn how things were done when there was a future built of cascading conveniences. We stand on the shoulders of giants ... but we need to be capable of forging our own foundations. It's fun and silly and sappy and sad -- really heartbreaking sometimes -- but so intelligent, definitely well beyond the purely melancholy manipulations of recent Pixar movies, because there's a point to all this. The animation is great, too, especially the bombastic facially expressive acting.

Good movie about family and change, my dog really do like this movie. Just wish that I had more to say but I do not so am just going to repeat what I said. It was a great movie about family & change. Although the characters had like superpowers for some reason I didn't get that part. I mean that I'm couldn't fly anything like that or had a x-ray vision just super super powers that is can run real fast and throw objects like it was nothing but they were caveman so that I could not understand. Yummy I am almost finished with this. Was just a great movie about family change and what happens if you don't change in a certain amount of time you die. I'm in animal or animals were kind of funny looking yeah like I Wamberg a mini elephant

This was a great purchase. The move is really cute and a fun time for people of all ages. Bonus of course was the Belt Toy that my son really wanted. Also great was that it came with the 3D blueray and digital copy so for the price, you can't beat everything we got with it. The 3D is pretty good... we saw the movie in theatres in regular 2D so I can't compare it to theatre quality but comparing it to say the Lorax 3D I'd have to say the Lorax is better 3D effects. I would say the 3D was worth it and better than my 2D to 3D conversion.

I saw this movie in theaters, and let me say right of the bat that I was not expecting much. I love to watch animated features, but sometimes they can be a little hit or miss. With that in mind, I bought tickets to see it and was pleasantly surprised. I found myself laughing multiple times throughout the movie, and caring about what happens to the characters. Is it the best movie I have seen? No. But it was enjoyable, and really what else could you ask of a cartoon?

The reason I picked this movie besides the review was because the meaning behind it. As the movie unfolding, I was trying to explain to my son how to be strong when facing hardship and independent not relying on parents. I tell him "Don't say I can't do it. But find an alternative and believe that you can do it". Every now and then, he asks me to watch it again. Yes, I strongly recommend it. And yes, it is worth every penny.

This movie is hilarious and is a great feel good movie for people of all ages. This also turns out to be a great movie for dads to watch with their daughters. I would recommend this movie to add to anyone's animated library that they are building for their children. It reminds me of a "Shrek" style film where on the outside it is a lovable kids film, but underneath there are the subliminal jokes that keep parents/adults interested as well.

OK, I have the impression that real cave me had it much worse than these guys, but that notwithstanding it definitely captures the non-tech world of Neanderthals. The best parts to me were the "discovery" of fire, the cute and ravenous "ground birds" and the quirky antics of Eve. Other than that, the movie is at times slow and tedious, with some overly cute, overly predictable moments (neon sabertooth kitty as buddy, anyone)?

I saw this movie in the theater with a 3 year old and a 70 year old and everyone enjoyed it tremendously. A very humorous and heartwarming tale about a stone age family and their attempt to find a safe home after theirs is destroyed. I enjoyed the 3D version and can honestly recommend it for anyone, It was full of vibrant creatures and locations that looked awesome on my big screen at home.
