British Period Movie
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed. The acting is impecable from Emma Thompson & Anthony Hopkins. Christopher Reeve’s role though small is integral to the story line & his wonderful performance is a highlight. If you love Dawnton Abbey, you are definitely going fall in love with this hidden gem. It’s at times heartbreaking & intriguing. At the end it leaves you wanting more. I wish they had made a follow up. But it stands well on its own.

A LAST GASP OF MERCHANT/IVORY TEAM PRODUCTION
|Posted .THIS MOVIE IS ONE OF THE FINEST OF THE EARLY 90S. BASED ON AN EXCELLENT NOVEL. THIS STORY HIGHLIGHTS THE SUPREME ACTING SKILLS OF EVERYONE INVOLVED, ESPECIALLY HOPKINS AND THOMPSON. A MUST SEE FOR LOVERS OF DIALOGUE, EDITING, PRODUCTION ETC.
