    Synopsis

Quell the fires of war in Valkyria Revolution for the Xbox One. You must tow the line between hero and villain as you make the choice whether to sacrifice teammates for the greater good, and turn-based action evolves as the game progresses. Decide the fate of a nation in Valkyria Revolution.

    Features

This special Vanargand Edition comes with a bold pin inscribed with the Vanargand's ferocious coat of arms, a 12-track soundtrack written by the extremely talented Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger, Stella Glow), and stunning outer box

In an alternative world based on the European era of industrialization, players will band together with Jutland's elite soldiers, the Vanargand unit, to fight against the merciless Ruzi Empire

Though it bears the name of Valkyria, the Valkyria Revolution eschews the original series' traditional turn-based strategy to replace it with the new hybrid of fast-paced real-time combat and tactical acumen across battlefields

The world of Valkyria Revolution is brought to life by the unique visual style provided by a new graphical engine and vibrant soundtrack composed by the celebrated Yasunori Mitsuda

The powerful drama of the game can be experienced in the original Japanese voice acting with English subtitles or in the brand-new English translation

I adored Valkyria Chronicles. So much so that I bought a PSP just to play the sequel. I couldn't believe that I'd finally see a new chapter in what I think is one of the last generation's greatest games (especially on my Xbox One). Initially a tale of joy, once the wrapper for the game came off....it slowly turns into a story of woe. The great characters of the previous games are swapped out for inexpressive puppets. There's what can be considered voice acting, but it is ear bleedingly bad. The battle system is bafflingly obtuse, like a blend of the previous games and Dynasty Warriors...yet much, much worse than either. The graphics look to me like they tried to port the old PSP engine to the current gen of systems but didn't bother to optimize past "hey it seems to work". But the worst aspect of the game is the loading.... It seems to load every 15 seconds. Play for 5 minutes...now loading....cutscene for 10 seconds...now loading....another cutscene for 20 seconds...now loading...brooding cutscene for 2 minutes..now loading...repeat over and over. It is maddening! In 5 minutes of gameplay, you'll see at least 14 now loading screens. I so wish this was what I was hoping for, but it seems to me like a half baked cash grab. Still Sega gave me something, so I'll give it 2 stars. However, unless you are a diehard Valkyria fan....and really even if you are, skip it.

This is a very fun game with cool characters and great story. If you like JRPGs and action combat, this is a good choice. It has a mix of action RPG mechanics with tactical options as well. The story and characters are nicely developed and detailed. You really grow to care about them and want to see how their stories will end. This is accompanied by a great sound track and beautiful visuals.

I really want to like this game. It's nothing like Valkyria Chronicles. Expect endless cutscenes and a lot of "now loading" screens. Actual gameplay is limited. It's pretty easy to doze off if you are trying to watch the cutscenes. It is safe to say that budget of developing this game is pretty low. The level of detail is more along the lines of a PS2, Xbox (the original), or Gamecube. I can see why this game debuted at $40 and not $60. The introduction of magic is a step backwards.

The game starts off with a bunch of uninteresting cutscenes and continues to have them quite frequently, even during missions. The story follows typical anime tropes and if you skip it, you really miss nothing. You have to skip around six cutscenes and wait for the game to load forever between each mission and most of anything you do between missions is just busy work.

I was really looking forward to this game since it was announced but when I got it things change. The price itself will tell you because it's not a full price game and thankfully so. The game cutscenes are long and boring, most of the time you don't know who's talking because they are all just standing there and their mouths barely move. The combat it's pretty fun but the rest of the game is just boring. If you want a good Valkyrie game go get Valkyrie chronicles.

This is an alright game, but it pales in comparison to the original Valkyria series, or presumably the upcoming 4. But, the graphics are decent, the story is ok, and the music is on point as usual. The combat is the worst part, being not completely action AND not completely turn based. But it's not bad if you're starved for a new JRPG on Xbox One.

I'm glad to see a JRPG on xbox and even Valkyria to boot! Too bad the game has bad loading times, Art style is different, and gameplay has changed as well. I want to see more jrpgs come to xbox, but this title should have spend more time fixing it's story's pace with missions.

Everybody talks about this game so I decided to give a shoot and guess what? I love it. Funny thing is the Media said negative about it but I think It's phenomenal. You Should Try it to see with your own eyes.
