Viking and best buy experience the worse nightmare
Owned for 8 months when reviewed.
I purchased this viking refrigerator in July 2020. Delivery and installation of Best Buy was terrible the declined to install any appliances due to difficulty of going up 2 steps in my home. They left my appliance Purchased in my garage. I waited a week for them to install my refrigerator.
Now the refrigerator after have the refrigerator installed nothing was wrong at first. Until water started leak .I first thought it was a dishwasher which is next to our fridge. But soon learned that it was a fridge that has a plastic pan that collects water it was cracked and leaking, still waiting as of October 2020 for replacement, Im been told it on back order currently feb 8, 2020. Also our ice marker new made ice a-lot of ice It was basically always empty , we so confused as to why. We called viking to check out, they sent out 3 party company to Diagnostician didn't mention the freezer was not cold enough. He had mentioned also that takes up to five days to fill up with ice and This fridge Raiders are not designed to make a lot of ice. Few days later the ice maker stop making ice all together.Don't know why.I have to buy ice at the supermarket every time i needed ice. Also handle of the ice maker is broken i just glued on poor quality.
After waiting over 4 months, the unit arrived and was finally installed. It works well, but the drawer configuration is different than the store model and not nearly as efficient (two half drawers instead of a single drawer the entire width thereby causing one to 'lose' valuable space). the freezer side also makes an intermittent but loud humming noise (65 dB) and Viking is replacing it (after another 4+ month wait)
We purchased Viking fridge on 8/22 with delivery on 9/2. Guys came in installed no problems. Delivery guy said it would slowly start to cool & reach proper temp by morning. It never did! Called Geek Squad first thing and we've been waiting for replacement which won't be till 10/7 !!! High end fridge like Viking and it doesn't work from the get go, is unacceptable. Big disappointment, we should have gone with another brand.
It is unbelievable that you can pay $10,000 for a Viking fridge at Best Buy's and it arrives with broken hinges and neither Viking or Best Buy's will take ownership. Now Viking has come in and told us that this may take another 7 to 10 days to fix and that I may have to pay for part of the cost!!! A fridge that has been purchased and installed by Best Buy's and never used!
A:AnswerYes. but its is not LOCO. Sub Zero set the bar high with absolutely the best quality that you can get, and their fridge is also $12K. Ours is 22 years old, and we got our first error message today. You will never have to worry about the thing breaking down. And its made in America. So, I am looking for a replacement if needed. I am considering Viking if Sub Zero's are unavailable due to the shortage.
