In this bleak and unsettling franchise entry directed by Nia DaCosta, survival itself feels morally compromised. A young boy navigating a ravaged Britain falls in with a cult whose charismatic leader offers protection at the price of sanity. Ralph Fiennes brings grave intensity as a doctor forced back into the nightmare he hoped to end. Written by Alex Garland, the film leans into dread rather than spectacle, asking what kind of society crawls out after the apocalypse.
