About this product
New four track CD EP features two tracks from the band's current studio album plus two brand new songs previously unreleased. During their brief winter hiatus, 65daysofstatic went into the studio and recorded the Distant and Mechanised Glow of East European Dance Parties E.P to accompany their 2008 tour dates supporting the Cure. Robert Smith handpicked the band for the Cure's World Tour. Comprising two very different takes on the LP track of the same name, plus two completely new songs, the Distant and Mechanised Glow of East European Dance Parties answers the question 'what happens if we put these instruments down for a couple of seconds and create a 16 strong choir from our own under rehearsed voices?'

Old Calf formed as a duo in the small, but musically vibrant town of Charlottesville, VA by Ned Oldham (The Anomoanon, Palace Music) and accordionist Marty Metcalfe, slowly accruing members on route to recording their debut album. Deeply influenced by traditional American music, and touching on ground most groups do not know exist, Borrow a Horse is rich with melody and instrumentation, it's simple songs rooted in Folk and Bluegrass, and presented in a swirl of Psychedelia. It's an album forged in history, and despite existing in the present, it's sound is timeless.
2006 was an amazing year for 65daysofstatic. After releasing their second album, One Time for All Time, the Sheffield quartet set about touring relentlessly. They revisited many of the UK cities they had played in before, and also ventured abroad for the fit time, taking in nine countries along the way. One of those was Japan, where they played the Summer Sonic Festival in front of 10,000 people. In December, they went into the studio and recorded their best album yet - the Destruction of Small Ideas. InchDon't Go Down to SorrowInch is the first single from the album, backed with two new B-sides. The band will be touring extensively this spring, including SXSW, Japan and Europe.
