Aaly Trio - Sustain - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Vinyl LP pressing. InchObjective ConsciousnessInch is the debut album from Deathbird Earth, a 2 piece band based in the city of Philadelphia on the planet of Earth. Deathbird Earth's sound tends to eschew typical genre classification but is made from a mix of heavy drums and distorted bass layered with keyboard sounds that may or may not be lifted from your favorite classic science fiction films. InchObjective ConsciousnessInch documents the first year of Deathbird Earth's time as a band; recording started exactly one year to the day after the band's first practice. BJ (8 String Bass, Synthesizers, Vocals) and Dave (Drums, Percussion) have spent many years playing in various bands (Hulk Smash, Dialer, Psychic Teens, Gholas), but InchObjective ConsciousnessInch finds them making music together for the first time. Together they have created a sound that is sometimes proggy, sometimes noisy and sometimes hypnotic by blending heavy drums and bass with a wall of synthesizers topped off with shouted vocals and lots of delay.

Mercyland, led by David Barbe (Bob Mould's Sugar), was a foundational post-punk trio from Athens, Georgia. Formed in 1985 and dissolved by 1991, the band left behind a body of work that never saw a wide . The band was nourished by a steady diet of the Minutemen's Double Nickels on the Dime, Husker Du's Metal Circus, Meat Puppets 2, Dinosaur Jr's Yr Living All Over Me, Volcano Suns, and Mission of Burma. InchMercylandInch unveils eleven tracks recorded from 1985-1987 that are raw, urgent, and deeply tied to the American underground. Produced and curated by Barbe, the collection draws from early 8-track recordings, studio demos and live performances. This is a necessary historical document of the earliest material of the criminally unknown band, which captures the spirit of a band ahead of it's time. Fully remixed and pressed on CD and vinyl for the first time.

The Alan Broadbent Trio's previous Savant , New York Notes (SCD 2166), received rave reviews in the international press. The Guardian (UK) wrote, InchThe bubbling stream of notes is both unpredictable and inevitable, and following it's twists and turns is a joy.Inch Couleurs Jazz (France) proclaimed, InchBehold! A precious gem of a jazz recording.Inch InchTrio in MotionInch finds Broadbent, Billy Mintz and Harvie S reunited in the pianist's New York apartment-studio recording music that is spontaneous, surprising, possessing a sly humor and emotionally involving. Broadbent received two Grammy awards and has collaborated with Natalie Cole (Unforgettable), Herbie Hancock, Sonny Rollins, Diana Krall and Paul McCartney. Each tune on the setlist is imbued with a warm intimacy and the refreshing, slightly piquant glow of intensity which warms both the listener's heart and mind.
