An award-winning singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, film composer, producer, and solo artist, Abby Posner is a multi-tasker at heart. She shines a light on the full spread of her creative abilities with Second Chances, an album that uses modern American roots music as a springboard for a bigger, bolder sound. Influenced by everything from punk/rock to electronic music, Second Chances is every bit as diverse as the artist who made it. Inspired by a life-changing breakup and the introspective soul-searching that followed, the album deals with themes like resilience, patience, acceptance, self-awareness, and rebuilding. Posner calls it Incha queer love story,Inch but she clarifies that Second Chances is more about self-love than the affection we receive from others. InchI wrote the songs about my own journey,Inch she explains. InchIt's less about the one who got away, and more about discovering there's something better awaiting you. That's why I called it Second Chances. I'm getting into the second act of my life, chasing down something new.Inch Something new, indeed. Second Chances carves out it's own genre-fluid identity, funneling Posner's influences into a sound that's entirely her own. InchQuiet on SunsetInch begins as an acoustic folk ballad before moving into electronic territory. InchIf You Wanna LoveInch bridges the gap between Posner's punk/rock past and Americana present. InchDarkest HoursInch-one of three songs to feature contributions from a full band-is a late-night soul song punctuated by bluesy fretwork. The indie-pop textures of InchWe've Come So FarInch nod to modern influences like Phoebe Bridgers, while the hushed vocal harmonies in InchMoving Back to DenverInch evoke Elliot Smith's iconic bedroom recordings. The youngest of three boys, Lynn grew up in a small town in central Minnesota. His grandmother bought him an old Sears and Roebuck acoustic guitar at a rummage sale. Lynn new at an early age what he wanted to do the rest of his life. While the other kids had interests in cars and sports, Lynn had his ear to the radio and stereo listening and studying 60's artists like Elvis and Rick Nelson and then came Neil Diamond, that was at the age of 14. Neil had a major influence on Lynns music. As years passed Lynn played in different local rock bands, but he always preferred playing solo. He started writing songs at age 15. Peer pressure and bad habits developed and the creative juices stop flowing. It would be 25 years before Lynn would start to write again. After losing his first wife he dealt with grief and depression. Then he fell in love with a lovely lady with three girls and his life was changed. Through her he found love, life and most of all he found Jesus Christ. For the past year he has been playing in local chuches and events and writing songs again. As a result he feels he has been given a 'Second Chance'. This CD reflects the different stages Lynn has gone throughin his life. The songs focus on relationships between man, woman, God and how your life can be changed. With his warm vocals and acoustic guitar he hopes to reach the hearts of those that are searching for the contentment that he has found through love and faith.
