Abott & Costello In Jack And The Beanstalk - DVD

Be happy and go wacky! The classic fairy tale gets a comical workover from comedy legends Abbott and Costello! Lou plays Jack, while former heavyweight boxer Buddy Baer plays the giant who lives in the sky. Meanwhile, renowned voice artist Mel Blanc (Bugs Bunny!) lends his familiar sound to various animals in the story. There's even a talking harp! Directed by Jean Yarbrough. Also starring Barbara Brown, William Farnum (As) and Shaye Cogan. This is one film that will make you think twice the next time someone offers you some magic beans

Mr. Dinkle and Jack (Abbott and Costello) accept a babysitting job, but soon find the child reading the story of Jack and the Beanstalk to them. Jack falls into a deep slumber where he is the young Jack of the fairy tale. In his dream Jack learns that the Giant (Buddy Baer) lives in a castle in the sky, and has stolen all the land's wealth. Jack must sell the last family possession, their beloved cow InchHenryInch, to the local butcher, Mr. Dinklepuss. Along the way Jack meets The Prince (who is kidnapped by the Giant). The unscrupulous Dinklepuss pays Jack five InchmagicInch beans for the cow. Upon returning home, Jack learns that the Giant has also kidnapped The Princess (Shaye Cogan). Jack and Mr. Dinklepuss try to save InchNellieInch, the golden-egg laying hen, as well as Polly the housekeeper from the Giant. How will this fantastic adventure end? A marvellous classic with lots of wonderful song and dance numbers. (79 minutes - 1952 - Color - 4 3).

A double bill of classic comedy from Abbott and Costello. In Jack And The Beanstalk (1952) Abbott and Costello add their own unique brand of comedy to this classic fairytale. Plus Africa Screams (1949) where they are working as booksellers in a department store. Mistakenly thought to be experts on Africa the pair are kidnapped and taken to darkest Africa to search for treasure. (152 minutes - 1952/1949 - Black & White & Color - 4 3)
