It is a durable strong hardwood that is considered the best wood for clappers. As this is a handmade item there will be slight differences in every clapper. Wood is a natural material. There will be variations, including knots, texture, and grain variations. These have a nice wide routed groove on each side for easy handling. Every clapper is finished with a smooth sanding process with no finish applied to the wood. This means that your clapper is ready to use right out of the box with no maintenance to be had.
