The best chromebook i have used. Im able to edit and make videos on it. Which for its price and being a chromebook is amazing. Something that i have wanted to be able to do for a while. And I am able to do that on this chromebook. It is the absolute bes chromebook I have ever used. The keyboard has decent travel for being so thin. Port selection is nice. But you take up one of the 2 usb c ports when you plug it in to charge. The only 2 major issues I have with it is 1. the lack of an sd card slot. Not being able to expand the storage is a little bit of a killer. But the amout of processing power and the capabilities of this chromebook outway that, at least for me. 2. The battery life is a little lack luster. Somedays it is almost 8 hours. Some days its 2hours. And that is not doing heavy task. But I am able to over look those 2 things because of performance and capabilities of this chromebook. Especially for the price. I'm able to do the same stuff on this as what a $1000+ laptop cost. Now im not lugging a 8lb msi around to do video/picture editing and writing. Even gaming using emulator and android apps run great. Ps2 emulation is even great. Beyond happy with this purchase. I would highly recommend this to anyone want a fully capable chromebook to conquer just about every task. I say just about because I have yet to find something it can't do. But im sure someone will at some point if they push it hard enough.

I've been using the Acer Chromebook Spin 714 since November 27, 2023, and it's become an essential tool for both my personal and professional life. The performance is outstanding - it's fast, quiet, and handles multitasking with ease. The standout feature for me has to be the screen; it's stunningly bright and offers spectacular luminance, making every task more enjoyable. As for the design, it's sleek and modern. Transitioning to ChromeOS was a breeze, and I've grown to love its simplicity and efficiency. Battery life is another high point, easily lasting over two days on standby, and it's yet to die on me during use, which is impressive. The touchscreen adds a layer of convenience and responsiveness that I didn't realize I needed, but now can't do without. Overall, I think it's perfect as is, a testament to Acer's commitment to quality and user experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable and beautifully designed Chromebook!

I ordered to use for school. The order arrived within the quoted time. I compared this laptop with many others and I found that this was by far the one with quality features for a fraction of the cost. I found that the processing speed was more than efficient to handle multiple open tasks with no lagging. I have even had movies playing while maneuvering through different tasks and still no lagging. In my opinion, the big difference between this laptop and others was the feature to flip the keyboard back and use the laptop as a large tablet and using the touchscreen feature. The flip feature has come in handy when drawing being that it is easier to precisely draw with the laptop folded. A touchscreen was a must for me because it was easier to download assignments and write on the laptop using a stylus. It has saved me printer ink and paper because I can complete the assignment online using my own handwriting. The privacy shutter is one of my favorite things because I can log into a class or zoom and have the privacy shutter closed and easily open when I’m ready to be seen. I know this isn’t necessary but I love the feature and knowing it is closed all the time unless I need to use it. The screen clarity will not disappoint! The clarity of this screen is crisp & clear & great quality. The backlit keyboard was useful when sitting in the bed or in a darker lit place but it wasn’t a big deal if I didn’t have it. I like the laptop protector which isn’t a selling point but more of a bonus. I like the soft cushion and protective feature & that it had an extra pocket on the outside. It was perfect for carrying my stylus and a couple other small items. I have not had any issues with my purchase nor any complaints about the quality of the product. Needless to say, I am more than pleased.

Have not yet attempted to put it under strain but overall good first impressions. Runs fast enough for me and colors are vivid enough. Touch screen works very well and there were no issues with the initial startup. Overall, I believe it will last me a long time without need for upgrade.

This is a great laptop but for a Chromebook the hardware is way Overkill. The screen is nice bright and clear. The function is smooth. However the price was a little high.

Love it! The image is clear and crisp. At first I thought is was a little small for my taste but I think it is more convenient to bring back and forth to work. I like the fact that it includes an HDMI port as well as the USB. I am a teacher and it is perfect fir accessing google content and creating lesson slides.

Love it! It’s so easy to use especially because of the touch screen. It’s fast and secure.

A good machine but with a few issues: 1. Even at top volume, the sound is too quiet. If there is a fan on in the room, I have trouble hearing a movie. 2. When the lid is open, the computer does not sit flat. Most of the weight is on the edge of the lid. This would not be a big deal, except that I rest the laptop on my legs when I use it, and the edge of the lid is quite sharp. I have to move the laptop every few minutes because of the painful red lines that it digs into my legs.

The new Acer Chromebook Spin 714 is pretty nice so far. Well-built, full-flip, seems durable and fast. Disappointed that it doesn’t come with a stylus or mouse (as other Spin714’s seem to?) but GorillaGlass touch screen works well with finger. Should be perfect for high schooler’s work.

Great laptop had it for a few months now and it works great good battery life as well.

Really cool laptop, I love it, my only issue was one time, only once I had a Glitch in the screen I had to restart the laptop back, it did happened once but overall it's a really nice laptop

Chromebook arrived with bottom of case color fading. Otherwise, everything else is as expected. Due to that I would classify its condition as less than excellent.

Right out of the box, I was quite impressed with this model. The graphite color, along with the rose/copper finish makes it look so stylish and sleek. It’s certainly a laptop I will be taking to the office. Although it is mainly made of plastic, the chassis feels quite sturdy. The hinges are smooth and stay in whatever position the laptop may be. There is almost no wobble with the screen. I mainly use it in laptop mod, but I have found the convertible feature quite useful. The tent and dock modes allow me to watch content comfortably. It can also be used in tablet mode, but it can be a bit cumbersome while handling it in one hand. The touchscreen is very responsive. I heard that the last model had a pen, and sadly this particular model does not. Nevertheless, it is compatible with any USI 2.0 pen, and that works great if you have one. The keyboard is well-spaced and there’s plenty of travel. It was very comfortable typing this review here. The backlight is bright and subtle. The glass trackpad is a bit smaller than I’d like, but it works smoothly and feels great. The 1920x1200 screen is one of the best I’ve seen on a Chromebook. It’s vibrant and colorful. While it’s only 350 nits, it can easily be seen in super bright environments. The upwards-firing speakers are loud. As with any laptop, there’s some lack of bass but is still enjoyable to a point. The battery life is quite good, clocking at about 8 hours at the brightest setting while watching movies, surfing the net, and doing some productivity work. What impressed me the most is how buttery smooth this laptop is. It is super fast in everything I do. There are no hiccups in scrolling, flipping, or changing tabs or apps. I was playing some videos, writing, and had more than 20 tabs open and I didn’t hit the RAM limit (8GB). I also played some Android and cloud games with a Bluetooth controller and I was very impressed. I also love how fast the booting process is. I do wish it had a fingerprint or face log-in, but opening it with my phone nearby worked well. For those who like to hook up a monitor, I was able to connect 2 monitors plus the laptop. I used a hub, but an HDMI and a USB-C to HDMI or DP connection work as well. The QHD camera is very good. There is some graininess in dark environments, but it adjusts well. The mic pics up sounds well. It’s definitely very good for online meetings. Sure, 256GB is not much for space, but since most things are cloud-based, I did not worry about that. Besides, you can always carry around an external SSD since there are plenty of inputs. Being a Chromebook, I feel more comfortable taking this laptop during travels as I trust it more than Windows. It almost goes without saying that I am very happy with this laptop. It’s not perfect; but the performance, build quality, features, and stability are well worth the price.

We use this device for our mobile services that are all web hosted and this is the perfect device for that.

The Acer - Spin 714 2-in-1 14" Touch-Screen Chromebook with Intel i5 1335U, 8Gig Memory and 256GB Solid State Driveis a solid choice. Acer has really stepped up with this unit. This Chromebook has solid performance, a solid feel yet still lightweight and easily portable and manueverable. The Chromebook DNA has always relied more on cloud and online access and less on locat storage. Having said that, on first look one might think the 8 Gig memory and 256 Gig SSD drive might feel a bit slim, but for general use, it's more than adequate. With no moving parts (other than the hinge between screen and keyboard) this a great for portability. As for the keyboard (see pics), it has a good backlight. Very nice for the late-night work sessions while your spouse counting sheep. The screen is bright and viewable from multiple angles. While not 4K, the Full HD is perfectly adequate for most all internet and casual use. The processer is a nice step up. It will be more than necessary for most all casual use. The Spin 714 also comes with a nice case. Handy for protecting the device while traveling. End of the day, this is a great option for casual and student use. I would reccomed to a friend.

Been using this chromebook for a month and although it is sturdy, quick, and responsive, I have two major problems with it. Firstly, the screen is so frickin reflective! It's impossible to use outside, and even inside the reflection gets in the way of easy viewing. Secondly, it's ridiculously hard to open. I understand the edges need to be flat for the "tent" configuration, but I don't want to struggle every time I want to use it. The difficulty is actually a deterrent to use the chromebook at all. I don't have a stylus so I cannot comment on that piece. Unfortunately this is pretty much the best quality the market for the screen size, so I'm stuck without a good NON-2-IN-1 alternative option. I wish I'd never bought it and kept using my old laptop even though it ran out of updates.

This is the first Chromebook laptop that I have ever tried out. I kept an open mind as I went through the easy setup process and was impressed with some of the nicer features. I had to go through a slight learning curve for adapting to the different types of operating systems and setups. I realized while I was importing my settings from Google that some of my favorite gaming apps were not available for a Chromebook but only for phones or tablets. I decided to focus on the other aspects of the device that could still be a source of entertainment with the various streaming apps and for being able to access my documents from the cloud for work projects. I realized that after spending many hours trying out different features on it that it is a device more suited for students or people who only want a streaming and web surfing device. I did like the touch display on the Acer Spin 714 and the flexibility with the design to use it as a tablet, laptop, or a 2-in-1 angle device to work on. The Chromebook had all the special features that I like using in my home starting with the WiFi-6e for my fast connections and that it had Bluetooth 5.1, an HDMI port, USB 3.2 Gen 2, and dual USB Type-C ports. I liked the backlit keyboard and 10-hour battery pack inside. The webcam had decent quality and the DTS sound was a good feature but a little weak on the two speakers on the Chromebook. The 13th Gen Intel Core i5 processor had plenty of power to handle multiple tasks without a strain on the system. The Intel Iris Xe graphics were crisp enough to suit my needs with streaming videos as well. I would have to say that after experiencing everything incorporated with the Chromebook that I now know what to look for in the future and to recommend this device mainly for students due to the lightweight and portability aspects which are good.

Here are my observations. - This is not a lightweight or thin machine like Apple's Air. Not even close. It's heavy and has some bulk to it. - This is not a great road warrior machine and based on its build, with an HDMI port, suspect Acer believes most people will use it as a desktop. - The Gorilla Glass screen is outstanding. It has a nice solid feel and is perfectly responsive to touch. -- The keyboard and touchpad are so-so. Good enough, but nothing like the keyboard experience of a Pixelbook Go. -- Based on some reviews I read, I thought 714 came with a stylus, but apparently not. So expect to spend extra for one. -- I did get a USI 2.0 stylus and it seems to working just great. I use this for writing in tablet mode, one half of the screen for a writing app, either Squid or Cursive, and the other half either a PDF, Kindle Book or Chrome. Works good. -- The speakers are poor to so-so. -- The performance with the i5 and 8GB ram is very good. This set a new Octane level (you can still find this benchmark) for me around 80K. Not bad. The machine is fast, responsive. -- The colors, brightness and sharpness of the screen are all good. -- Overall: It performs well. It's not a great machine to lug into a coffee shop or on a plane, but it's not impossible either. I'm kindof suprised that the 714 ended up on top of many best of lists. It does have hardware specs that many other Chromebooks do not. But it's bulk is a limiting factor. It may just be that there are so few Chromebooks with these hardware specs, that it stands out. . What I want: I'd really like a Chromebook with the 714's specs, a depth that's half the size of this iteration, and a little lighter. The Pixelbook Go had it right, but it wasn't a convertible, which was very limiting.
