I bought this so i could extend to three monitors off of my HP laptop. The first issue was the fact that it doesn’t come with its own power supply. I ended up using my gf’s unused work computer charger (the docking station she uses charges her laptop so she doesn’t need the factory charger). That works as a power supply for this dock but the instructions lack a clear input volts / amperage so it feels sketchy. The second issue: when i plug in the dock using the provided short jumper usb c cable to my laptop, about 60% of the time i get a pop up from my PC that the charger supply to my laptop is weak… which suggests to me that this Acer dock is pulling power from the host port in addition to it’s own power supply. If you unplug the power supply from the dock but leave the host cord in- it will still display on the monitors, too; which verifies there is some power drawn from the laptop. My computer has crashed 2 days in a row now, throwing a clock_watchdog_timeout stop code. From what i’ve read this can sometimes occur from insufficient power supply and/or overheating. So, it’s likely that this dock is at least partly to blame. Third issue: about 20% of the time, if my computer goes into sleep mode, when i bring it back on, the dock will glitch out and 2/3 or 1/3 of my monitors will say no input. I’ve found one way to fix this when it happens is to unplug / replug the HDMI or display port to the effected monitors. Sometimes that still doesn’t work- so i have to unplug the dock’s power supply and host port, give it a minute, then replug and it’ll be fixed. Annoying Wouldn’t buy again, wouldn’t recommend and may even need to replace it.

I've been using this dock mainly to power my laptop while keeping my mouse, keyboard, and Ethernet connection all plugged in through a single USB-C cable. It's worked great with no connectivity issues or dropouts so far. Charging is reliable, peripherals stay connected without needing to re-plug anything, and the build feels sturdy on the desk. Haven't tested the 3-monitor/8K output yet since I'm mainly using it for charging and peripherals, but for that use case it's been exactly what I needed - a simple, clean setup with one cable instead of a tangle of them.
