I haven’t bought a laptop for a while and wow I was surprised how fast this beast is! The review says there’s no microphone built into this but there is btw..it’s just not that great of a sound quality..the camera is the same but I’m not too surprised for a laptop camera..but overall, its seriously great. Totally recommend people to buy it for school even if they don’t think this need this because it’s a gamer pc

Laptop works great good value works great for all games

It does everything I need out of the box. Looks beautiful, works perfectly. Everything played on ultra settings is nice and smooth. Its clean and crisp. If you choose to upgrade, its very simple. But for gaming, its not necessary. Outstanding laptop for this price.

The Laptop is for my gaming son. He said it is just what he needed to play his game as well as edit his video. Therefore, I'm giving this laptop a perfect rating

This is an amazing laptop for everyday use and gaming. On csgo I run about 80 fps on highest graphics. No lag unless I'm downloading something which is normal. The keyboard isn't at all hard to see It matches the theme. I love love love this laptop.

First off, if RGB backlit keyboard is all you care about then search elsewhere. Yes the pictures weren't right but they have fixed that problem. I like the red backlit, it matches the laptop. 2nd when you get this do not be discouraged about it not turning on before you plug it in, this is a new style of adapter or just the pc out of the box type deal. You HAVE to plug it up before it will turn on. Make sure the adapter is flush and clicks. Then hold the power key and enjoy a fast running beautiful machine. The only thing about this laptop I don't enjoy is that there aren't slots for the memory and hdd on the backplate (you have to remove the whole backplate to access the memory and hdd) I have added a 1TB SDD and was simple. I'm looking into upgrading memory and adding 2 matching 8gb sticks but I'm having problems with getting correct information from Acer. So if you do get this laptop and want answers from them, expect basic ones that you most likely already know. I have run Rainbow Six Siege flawlessly, Resident Evil 2, State of Decay 2, Warzone, no problems This is a very good laptop for the money. I had recently purchased the AN515-54 and while it was decent, for only $50 more I got this. Better graphics, better processor, larger screen. Can't beat it unless your willing to spend 1000+ Enjoy!

I love spending the first 45 minutes of my new laptop purchase on the telephone with support to find out it needs to be sent in for repairs. It was only a covid, I didn’t get to have a graduation present... don’t feel bad.

Ive been using this for about 3 or 4 years and its been good. It needed another 8gb of ram and i just repasted the cpu and realize i should have done from day 1 but i got this for like 700$ and its still running strong. Not the brightest or highest quality screen but its got tons of hours and still games good, 50's fps w most newer games at high settings.

Has been very good to me for 3 years, got a ram upgrade despite it not being needed, it’s really good for running most games and I’ve even streamed on it with no issues

Looking for a replacement for my desktop computer, but wanted something I could upgrade. This laptop has it all not only am I easily able to update my RAM but also add way more storage. Plays all the games I want very well! Good size good price for what’s inside, considering most “gaming” laptops are much more expensive.

This probably isn't a good review for most people since I have had only had the computer for a few days. However, I feel everything is fine and will continue to be fine. The early 2000s was my teenage years. I was into building computers and back then.. You paid LOTS of money for a gaming laptop. Then it still wasn't good compared to a desktop computer. I didnt have a computer from 2009 up until 2017. Then I sold that one last year to build another one eventually. I decided to finally get a laptop this go around and it made me really nervous. Computer technology is progressing faster and getting cheaper. I can't keep up with it since im not really a big gamer anymore. Im very casual and only during the winter.. When I started looking at laptops, I had the old school thought in my brain. Im going to have to spend 2 grand to have a gaming laptop. I came across the Nitro 5. I was very skeptical. I watched tons of YouTube videos and read lots of things about these computers before I finally bought one. Bestbuy was the best deal in my opinion. Sure you can go get it cheaper on a place like Amazon or ebay. However you are getting a 15 inch screen not a 17. If you think there isn't much of a difference. Go into the store and look. Its a big difference and surprised me. I also was aware of the heat issue these can have. That is understandable with that kind of hardware packed tight and heavy use. I purchased a cooling pad along with my laptop. I also know 8 GB of ram isn't going to be enough if I decided to get a demanding game. So I purchase a set of ram which totals 32GB. So now that I am done with the boring part. I started the laptop up when I got it home. I never had a computer with an SSD and now I see why people love them! Fast boot time and load time. I play older game like Civilization 4, Constructor, Sims 3, Prison Archtect, and others. Handled those great. I decided to get into Arma 3 after seeing a few YouTube videos about it during my laptop research. I had everything on high at 1080p. I decided to try it without the cooling pad. It honestly didn't get that hot. It got warm, but not burning my hands like some people said. People are claiming this with not so demanding games. Seemed fine to me. I played it online in situations where a lot was going on and it was making the laptop work. Still didn't get hot. This is obvious to some, but I noticed it wasn't laggy with an ethernet cord compared to wifi. Wifi hardware did a great job, but if a battle got everyone involved. It started to get laggy. That went away with a ethernet cord. This is a great laptop. The best bang for your buck. Its very speedy and is going to great for a casual gamer like me. The cost of the computer, necessary purchases like ram and cooling pad, plus taxes.. Its a good deal in my opinion.

Its been a month and overall fantastic purchase as it fits my needs! Some changes to note for what I did after receiving it. - I added another 8gb RAM for it to be a 16gb ram - I dual booted Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and I use it as my daily OS (for programming works) Pros: - There's already an extra RAM slot, so plug and play, ability to upgrade to 32GB (2x16) - Dedicated 4gb GPU, I am able to run heavy 3D simulation programs not gaming though - Despite it being only an i5, the i5-10300H is sufficient for the GTX 1650Ti. CPU/GPU bottlenecks are low. - Large 17' screen - Cooling/fan system so far so good, operates ~39celcius for normal operations, ~70celcius for running 3d applications. Cons: - The weight definitely brings down its portability, but acceptable for what it offers and price - The battery seems to die pretty quickly but I run simulations. - The backlit keyboard gets a little annoying sometimes as you can't really see the keys when its off. Overall: If you're a student/engineer that needs certain specifications but under a budget, I would totally recommended this! (but please upgrade the RAM)
