A: No, it doesn't light up, at least not on mine. I bought a small USB lamp to plug in when I need a light on the keyboard, and that works fine.

A: It has a lot of memory and stuff if you believe the labels. Before you spend a lot of money on MS Office, you might give a look at some of the free suites, Libre Office is the one I have run on many machines over the years. It works just fine and the price is right. I realize Bill Gates will write me our of his will for this, but that's life.
A: Acer TravelMate has a Standard PS/2 keyboard. Nothing fancy. No lighted keyboard feature.
Q: Does this laptop have a Web cam and is it Skype capable?
A: Yes it has a webcam so you should be able to use Skype.

A: Yes, this model can be used for writing.
A: It comes with windows 10, NOT Pro, NOT Pro Education. No you don't have to be a student or teacher to purchase it, at least not when we did.
