Adult. - This Behavior - VINYL LP

Over the course of the last two decades, Detroit-based duo Adult. (Nicola Kuperus and Adam Lee Miller) have released six albums and nineteen EPs and singles across some of our favorite labels Mute, Ghostly International, Thrill Jockey, Clone Records, Third Man Records, and their own tag, the revered Ersatz Audio. The album, This Behavior, began as 23 demos written and recorded in a remote cabin in the woods of Northern Michigan during the dead of winter. In total isolation, and with a reduced amount of gear (a modified version of their live setup) on the cabin's kitchen table, the duo were completely immersed in an incessant inescapable studio of their own making. The result is 10 tracks of uncompromising dark electronics, showcasing Adult.'s return to aggressive and energetic dancefloor mastery. Album opener InchThis BehaviorInch alongside the follow-up InchViolent ShakesInch (which ascends into synths wailing like warning sirens over Kuperus's commanding vocals) set the stage for an on-edge listen, while the heartbreaking InchSilent ExchangeInch unfolds as a beautiful sad synth dirge. InchPerversions of HumankindInch breaks the mood - driving the listener into a slow and low groove before the frantic album midpoint of InchIrregular PleasureInch.

ADULT. Have been stalwarts of national independent music for almost two decades, releasing their perfectionist hybrid of darkwave and synth-pop with respected labels Thrill Jockey, Kill Rock Stars, Ghostly International and, most recently, Mute. The soundscapes this Detroit duo sculpts by synthesizer stabs and sparse drum machine rhythm are icy, dense and precise. This showcases the group in rare form, complete with the totally unexpected and kind of jarring sound of raucous audience laughter in place of typical applause as the intro as well as a light audible fuzz created by the third member of the group that night, their fog machine ;)Best of all, two of the tracks, Misshaped and Does the Body Know?, make their premiere on this . ADULT. Have outlasted any number of micro-electronic music scenes with whom they could have been grouped and, with their live show down to a science, prove that they will be worth a damn for a long time coming.Packaging 12' full-color die cut jacket, standard weight vinyl

II is the debut album from Brooklyn-based experimental rock duo Pure adult, formed by Jeremy Snyder and Bianca Abarca. At the centre of their music is the far-left political ethos and DIY attitude the pair share. Having grown up in the unusually sheltered environment of a church-turned-cult, Snyder has always found himself drawn to the harsh, dissonant music that was off-limits during his formative years. After leaving the church in 2007, Jeremy began studying religion, philosophy and politics whilst working as a sound engineer. In 2017, he and contemporary dancer and visual artist Bianca Abarca formed Pure Adult, and they released their debut EP, Pure Adult I, in 2019. In more recent years, Jeremy has become the engineer of choice to internationally acclaimed acts such as Mdou Moctar and IDLES, both of which are big fans of Pure Adult.c
