This brand new 1/43 scale diecast model of the M24 Chaffee Light Tank "Rita Hayworth," representing the U.S.A. 2nd Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron in Germany, 1945, is produced by AFVs of WWII and comes in the manufacturer’s original unopened box. It features a detailed exterior, true-to-scale detail, and is made of diecast metal with some plastic parts. The model comes in a plastic display showcase and has no openings. Dimensions are approximately L-5, W-2.25, H-3 inches. The M24 Chaffee, considered one of the best light tanks of World War II, was fast and lightly armored, with a 75 mm M6 gun capable of delivering significant direct fire. Over 4,000 were produced by Cadillac and Massey-Harris from 1943–45, and the first vehicles reached Europe in late 1944, proving highly effective and reliable. During the Korean War, M24s performed poorly against T-34/85s, leading to their replacement with M26 Pershings, M46 Pattons, and M4A3E8 Shermans armed with 76mm guns. The Chaffee remained in American service until 1953, when it was replaced by the M41 Bulldog.
