The tracks on the LP represent a blisteringly deep collection of heavy reggae rhythms and synthesized grooves from a singular creative force, inspired as much from Jamaican sonics as from Libyan folkloric styles, as Ahmed says, Inchit's the Libyan style, not some bullshit.Inch Our work with Ahmed started with a 12-inch with InchSubhanaInch on the A-side and InchDamek MajebInch on the B-side (track 4 on this ), which at the time were among the only songs we knew of Ahmed (Habibi012). After the , he sent us some more songs, which we loved just as much. Soon after, the idea was born to follow up with a full-length which Ahmed was happy to commit to. In early 2023, we met in person in Cairo to share a few more stories and to take some photos for the , which you can find throughout the booklet accompanying the LP and CD. The lead-off single is the stellar rhythms of InchYaraitInch. Ahmed creates a singular sound that's inspired as much by the Jamaican sonics as it is by Libyan folkloric styles, and the rap-refrain will have you singing along by the song's end, a perfect track for the warmer spring/summer days. Second single is the upbeat slammer InchAziz O Adda.Inch It's hard not to feel happy when the horn refrain comes in, followed by the anthemic vocals that make you want to dance out into the street, a dancefloor sureshot for any party, especially the tropical outdoor variety. Third single is InchYa Ta'ebha,Inch a bass-heavy reggae slammer if there ever was one - with stabbing pianos and synths, deep bass, and a hip hop influenced head-nodding percussive rhythm, rounded out with a stunning guitar solo - the track will surely be on loop as you bounce down the block. Around the Fur the follow-up to Deftones' passionate, aggressive Adrenaline, sees the California quartet expanding on the sheer rage of their earlier work, adding new, more sinister shades to their already extreme sound. The opening InchMy Own Summer (Shove It),Inch serves as an introduction to the album's sonic theme sinewy guitars and eerie whispers alternate with fast, violent crunch. Sepultura's Max Cavallero contributes guitar and vocals to InchHeadup,Inch while InchMXInch finds singer Chino trading off vocal lines with Annalynn Cunningham, (wife of Deftones' drummer Abe) in an acerbic take on the rock star mentality. Vocal acrobat Moreno attacks a variety of styles his breathy, psychotic recitations sound downright industrial, while the album's calmer, more brooding moments show his gift for haunting melody. Behind him, guitarist Stephen Carpenter's heavy wall of sound is astoundingly muscular, yet inspiringly agile. When Deftones' hellish fury hits full tilt, as it always does on this album, Moreno's voice erupts into screams which are best described as otherworldly, transforming this intense musical firestorm into a hurtling juggernaut of aggression.
