This device could not be easier to use. It is important to read the directions about best places to locate the device. For example, avoid direct sunlight on the device or placing it on the floor. It also works best for long term monitoring to get accurate results. It will certainly read daily exposure (takes about 24hours to get your first day reading and will count down with dashes until you get your first reading). The dashes mean it is working! The device averages over time so waiting about 2 weeks (preferably more) will give more accurate results and at the same time it will show you the spikes in radon levels. In reading about radon testing, many sites (including EPA) recommend 90 days. Very happy with the device and the instructions are very easy to read. The battery is already installed in the device and it is activated by simply pulling the tab. This has saved me $ over the cost of professional monitoring. I still need to take care of the elevated radon levels in my home but having this device has been very helpful to validate there is an issue. Don’t freak out from the readings as low levels of radon cause health issue over time - if readings are super high then the device will give that info within one day and you can contact a radon pro to mitigate. The device can be moved to any room and each time you will want to start new readings and wait a day to get an accurate average level. This is similar to noise readings where during the day in your house you have lots of noise and after one day you will get an average of all the noises (the screams and whispers will average out). Really noisy days will get averaged with quiet ones over time. If the device was more affordable I would have one in each major room where radon is likely to be present. If you are buying a home, leaving this in one place for 2 weeks during the buying process would be really smart. Hope the info helps.

This device matched a lab test result. Although we averaged 2.7, we decided to remediate our finished basement. After we had the radon remediation professionally installed, 2 days later the results displayed <.4 which is less than outdoors. Great device to monitor radon. Recommended this device to our neighbors/friends. Hopefully, it remains calibrated for a long time.

Knew we had a potential Radon issue and wanted to quantify it beyond the one-time tests. This gives both a short and long term reading which was helpful. Long term readings were high so I hired a remediation company. After they vented through our basement sump pump, the numbers went down almost immediately.

Very pleased with this Radon Detector. High qualiity and easy to set up and use. All you have to do is turn it on. We had to install a radon remediation unit due to high radon readings. The Corentium Radon Dectector give us peace of mind. We also use it to monitor our rental home.

Set up basically is activating the batteries. If you want to measure another house you'll need to reset the devise by putting a pin in a small hole. Once you're set up in one house you don't need to touch it and it will give you daily readings as well as averaged long term readings. Our readings from a $10 radon kit that you send in were identical to Airthings - Corentium Home Radon Detector which suggests Airthings is accurate. I purchased this because we wanted an ongoing measure of radon after our radon mitigation reduced it from 29 to below 1. Having Airthings avoided hassle of buying the send in devices, placing them for several days and then mailing them. It's easy to procrastinate doing this. Also long term measurements are more accurate.

Hello, Thank you for your review! We're thrilled to hear that you were able to easily use your Corentium Home device and access your Radon levels. Radon levels fluctuate daily and in order to understand your exposure and risks continuous monitoring is critical. As you mentioned, the Home device makes it easy; No lab fees, no shipping, no waiting! Access to your short and long term averages whenever you need it and complete peace of mind. Thank you again

We bought the Corentium Home Radon Detector after receiving disturbing results from a mail in radon detector kit. We already had a radon reduction system but it was old and we needed reassurance. The Corentium delivered assurance. It displays 1 day, rolling 7 day, and long term averages. We were amazed at how much radon levels differ day to day. You can move the detector to a new location and reset the device. Reset wipes out previous data and starts new averages. The daily readings allowed us to check how fixes we made affected radon levels. Our initial readings were around 3.95, very close to the maximum threshold. After sealing a sump pit readings reduced to about 2.9 daily. We tweaked our basement ventilation and now have daily readings below 1.0. Currently, 0.40. My only wish would be for the unit to have an app that recorded data to my phone and that would preserve data prior to reset. Seriously considering buying a second unit.

We use this to monitor the radon in my mother's basement, and it can be moved to different parts of the house after being reset. She was able to set this up initially herself, and its easy to see the numbers on the display. The readings are on par with the test results, and we feel much safer with constant monitoring.

I always suspected i may have elevated radon levels especially in the winter. I installed a fresh air ventilator to help control these levels. This detector helps me determine when ventlator should be run and at what fan speeds. The detector does take a while to update results. Great investment

Excellent very reliable little device if you care about Radon.Set-up was super easy - just pull the plastic tab sticking out of the battery compartment to turn it on. It immediately goes to calibration mode, then it goes into detection mode. You will not get any readings until after the first 24 hours. This is not an "instant read" device, like a digital thermometer. It is meant to remain in an area of your house, where it will continuously monitor. The lower digital display toggles between the 1-day and 7-day averages, while the upper display gives the radon average since first activating. Keep this device running and you will be able keep you Radon levels in check

We already have a radon mitigation system, but I hadn't tested in nearly 4 years. I decided to try this route of testing before hiring a potentially expensive professional. For the first couple months, I was seeing consistent short-term readings under 0.5 pCi/L and a long-term average of 0.24. So then I decided to turn off my radon mitigation system for one day. 24 hours later the short-term reading was over 6 pCi/L. That was enough to convince me that this monitor works.

overall good. bought this to "pre-test" a house before we sold. worked well and numbers were pretty close to the actual test that the sellers did.

The unit works well and giving a running number indicating the amount of radon is very nice. One has to assume that the calibration is correct when a calibration is done. I am not sure what form of calibration standard is used. The short term and longer term readout is helpful. After a large earthquake I wanted to make sure that radon levels were below the allowable limit. Thankfully they were well below the limit giving peace of mind. The cost is very good when you have a continuous display as the radon detectors units you send in to get tested are just a look at a short moment of time as Radon levels change because of a number of reasons. Be sure to read the instructions, although the print is small for us older folk. :)

Hello AlaskanSkimo, Thank you for your review! The Corentium Home automatically calibrates to it's environment, improving accuracy over time (<10% uncertainty after 7 days, <5% uncertainty after 2 months). As you know, Radon levels fluctuate with seasons, weather, natural disasters and other events. Traditional testing methods only provide one single result over a short test period. It's critical to monitor your average Radon levels long-term for a full understanding of your exposure over time. Airthings devices allow you to see short and long term measurements daily with no lab fees. We're so glad that you have peace of mind and remember to continue to monitor! Thank you

Very easy to set up. Readings correspond to a professional test I had done recently, so accuracy seems to be on point.

Everything you need in a Radon Detector. Installed before mitigation and remains in use. Good price

If you live in a part of the country where radon is prevalent, this radon detector is a necessity. It constantly monitors indoor radon levels, providing peace of mind. In concert with a radon mitigation system, you will know that the system is performing as desired, or not. It shows three readings: 1 day, 7 day average, and long-term level. I sleep better knowing my family is safe. A killer product (in the good sense) because it ensures a killer gas ( in the bad sense) is not present.

Set it up on a surface and left it alone for a few weeks. Clear display and easy to understand. Recommend keeping a written log of long-term averages as you move it from room-to-room. We haven't moved ours yet but plan to reset it before moving it elsewhere. Interesting to see the short-term reading fluctuations when we open our windows.

I had a contractor do a test for radon in my home, and the answer came out pretty high. Rather than sign up for radon remediation immediately, I invested in this detector, so I could do my own measurements over an extended period of time. It was very easy to operate, coming right out of the box, and I have been using it to keep track of my home's radon levels ever since it arrived.
