TO DUST will be the first solo album from Alice Russell since 2008s POT OF GOLD, and marks the next step forward in a remarkable career. Whether on a big stage with her 16 piece band, charming a crowd of 4000 into staying out dancing in the rain (as she did at Montreal Jazz Festival) or rocking out an intimate club with a stripped-down six piece, Alices natural talent and charisma have always commanded attention and affection.

Alice Russell's second solo album has been highly anticipated. Having slowly but surely built up her reputation as one of the UK's finest soul singers, through her recordings with a number of artists and live appearances, she is now concentrating on her solo career. My Favourite Letters has been produced and co-written by TM Jukes who has added his magic musical touch to Alice's gifted vocals. The album could be described as a kaleidoscope of soul music history with influences from Gospel, Hip-hop, Jazz, Northern Soul, Broken Beat, Electronica and Funk. 12 tracks. Tru Thoughts. 2005.

While Robinson Jeffers (1887-1962) is one of America's most important 20th century poets, relatively few composers have set his lean, emotive and enigmatic verses. Composer Christopher Anderson-Bazzoli, like Jeffers a Californian with deep ties to the Monterey-Carmel area, has met the challenge with his expansive song cycle Continent's End. The work successfully captures nine poems in which Jeffers, in characteristic fashion, combined striking nature imagery with powerful metaphysical musings and depictions of humankind's transitory, conflicted role in the planet's future. Continent's End is vividly brought to life on this recording by two outstanding performers who call the Bay Area home- mezzo-soprano Buffy Baggott and pianist Kevin Korth. This song cycle was commissioned by the Robinson Jeffers Association with additional support from the Center for Cultural Innovation.
