Alina Ibragimova - Paganini: 24 Caprices - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Telemann may have written his twelve fantasias for the amateur market, but he would surely have rejoiced to hear such superlative performances as these. Alina Ibragimova again demonstrates just what can be accomplished on the four strings of a solo violin. Album Tracks 1. Telemann Fantasia No.1 in B Flat Major, TWV40 14 I. Largo 2. The critical reception of Schumann's violin sonatas-like that of much of the composer's late output-has vacillated over the course of the intervening centuries. Written for and first performed by some of the leading violinists of the day, all three are now recognized for the masterpieces they undoubtedly are. We are fortunate indeed to be in a position to enjoy such dedicated performances as these from Alina Ibrgimova and Cédric Tiberghien. Album Tracks 1. Schumann Violin Sonata No 1 in a Minor, Op 105 I.
