About this product
Vinyl LP pressing. Includes . For the last 15 years, Allah-Las have alchemically melded surf rock washes with folk rock jangle and rock, building up their lauded music podcast, Reverberation Radio, and record tag, Calico Discos, in the process. But a lot has changed since Matthew Correia (drums/vocals), Spencer Dunham (bass, guitar, vocals), Miles Michaud (guitar, organ, vocals), and Pedrum Siadatian (guitar, synth, vocals) first bonded over psych rock vinyl in the back room at Amoeba Records in the late aughts. Zuma 85 signals the start of a new era for Allah-Las, and finds the band reinventing itself in defiance of the algorithmic categorization and robotic sterility. Recorded in the midst of the shift from the Old World to whatever branch of reality we're on now, it's a return, too The album will be released October 13th on their own tag, Calico Discos, in partnership with Innovative Leisure, which released early defining statements like Allah-Las (2012) and Worship The Sun (2014).

Double vinyl LP pressing. 2014 from Oren Ambarchi, Stephen O'Malley, and Randall Dunn. A three-pronged advance through the heart of physical sunshine playing on the floor of the jungle. Epic, insistent collabasitions played out over four sides making a whole.

Limited edition of 1000 numbered copies on silver coloured 180-gram audiophile vinyl. It's hard to believe that it has been over 35 years since Candy Dulfer rose to fame with her high-profile collaborations with Dave Stewart (the worldwide number 1 smash InchLily was hereInch) and of course, the legendary Prince, whose tongue-in-cheek recommendation (InchWhen I want sax, I call CandyInch) in the InchPartymanInch video made the world sit up and notice the young, glamorous and talented sax player at his side. Candy has been fortunate to work - both in the studio and on stage - with some of the biggest names in music, including Van Morrison, Maceo Parker, Sheila E., Mavis Staples, Lionel Richie, Beyoncé, Pink Floyd, Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, and many others. Despite these high-profile collaborations, Candy mainly focused on her solo career, starting her own band at age 13 and touring the world ever since. The Essential contains an overview of all the fantastic songs she recorded both solo as in collaboration with other musicians. This 17 tracks double LP includes famous songs like InchSax-a-Go-GoInch, InchLily Was HereInch, and InchSaxualityInch.

On Sirenas, Los Angeles quartet Allah-Las explore psychic vistas of atmospheric instrumental storytelling. The band's sixth album coalesces around a more spontaneous soundscape shaped by freeform experimentation, intuitive vibrations, and open-ended moments of inner and outer worlding. Channeling a fluid sweep of influences, from The Durutti Column, I.A.O., and Popol Vuh's scores for Werner Herzog to Jacques Cousteau's expansion of The Silent World beneath the ocean's surface, Sirenas mediates on subconscious grooves loosely imagined and deeply felt, and opens up previously unimagined pathways in the process.
