Alpine uses a carbon composite cone for consistency across the speaker's ultra-wide frequency range, plus a special double gathered-edge surround, which helps minimze distortion and promote accuracy. IF you're upgrading a factory 3-way component system, Alpine optimizes fit to minimize the need for custom work.
