We had an amana dishwasher before this one for 12 yrs or more without any problems. That's why we decided to buy another amana. I installed it in about a half hr including taking the old amana out. We ran our first load last night and it washed just as good as the old amana did. I don't understand why so many people say it didn't dry very well because every dish was dry including our plastic water bottles. This doesn't have the bells and whistles like delay or how many minutes left til it's done washing but who cares. For 298 it washes as good as the so called high end ones and the stainless steel is very nice. Matches everything in our kitchen. Now the only thing I found different was the racks were smaller than the one I replaced. I don't know why whirlpool, they are the makers, made the racks this way. It's pretty frustrating when the coffee cups and soup bowls don't fit quite right but we made it work. I also replaces the bottom rack with my old one from the machine I took out. Overall though I would recommend this washer to anyone who didn't want to waist their money on a washer that has options that at least we never would ve used. The best thing too is its made in the good old USA. Fantastic!

I cannot complain because this thing cleans so much better than my previous washer, and looks so nice and clean to boot. But. I do wish it dried better - I expect a heated dry setting to actually get hot enough to totally dry the dishes.

Delivery came nearly two hours before the "window" promised, so I wasn't ready. This is the only dishwasher I have ever seen that sells without insulation. It also lacks a power cord and brass water fitting, so buy the install kit or remove them from your old dishwasher. Best Buy online said $180 to install, then said there was no one servicing my area. The delivery guys said they would have installed if I had the install kit. They said I couldn't reuse the parts on my old dishwasher -- which I could have, except by the time my handyman told me, the delivery guys had taken it. The good news is that this Amana dishwasher works well, even if it looks a little dated and has lots of plastic parts inside. After a wash and heated dry, my Tupperware containers on the top rack came out wet, but the ceramic dishes on the bottom rack were dry--so hot, in fact, that they were hard to handle. Overall, I am satisfied, but if I were starting over, I'd spend more to get metal inside and more attractive control panel.

Quiet and efficient Best dishwasher I’ve had in 15 years

There's 3 modes on this dishwasher, heavy, normal, and 1 hour. These 3 modes translate to 3-hour, 2-hour, or 1-hour and though it gets the job done, it's super basic and it doesn't fully translate to a better wash. It's a cheap budget-friendly dishwasher, It might be nice to get something a little more capable if you're someone who cooks and generates a lot of dishes. but for someone who just needs some plates washed to remove the crumbs and some grease, this does the job and does it pretty well. Just don't open the door before the cycle ends because it fails to recover and you usually end up cancelling the job

I can keep my silence no more... we have owned this unit for 1 1/2 years and I'd disgusted with it. After every wash, I have to mop out the puddles of water left on the bottom and sides. The amount of mold that collects is unbelievable, also cleaned constantly. Yes, we have the heated dry on. We even leave the door hanging open for it to air/dry out. Save yourself the frustration, don't purchase this unit!

Great dishwasher for the price!! I originally tried buying through Big Sandy’s because they had it cheaper, but their customer service was horrible. Best Buy did a price match and was awesome to work with. Delivered quickly!!

We just bought a manufactured home that never had a dishwasher. Best Buy Amana was the only dishwasher that would fit, under $500 it is awesome and so quiet, better than my $800 I used to have.

Great affordable product! Nothing fancy about it, but the stainless steel looks nice and it works like a champ!

It’s a good value for what it is. Not the quietest downy dry that great but does the job.

Dishwasher leaks from base of door, and it wont remove the water from the unit. Water just sitting in the bottom of the dishwasher.

Doesnt dry the dishes very well. I end up taking them out after the wash to air dry them.

This dishwasher is one of the cheaper models but we were looking for a basic dishwasher without all the whistles and bells. It looks good, cleans well, and it's fairly quiet. If you use the "normal" setting it takes a long time to do the job. The "1 hour" setting is faster but not as energy efficient. In either case, when the cycle is done the dishes are clean and dry but there's a lot water left in the dishwasher. It's all over the sides, the bottom, and even the utensil tray is dripping. I called the help line and was told that it was normal for it to do that. They said that in order to make the units more energy efficient that the water doesn't get as hot. We always use the rinse aid but there's still a lot of water left inside. The help line person did say that the dishwashers with the stainless steel interiors don't have that problem. I would not recommend this product.

Pros; Easy to load and unload, plenty of room, especially the silverware basket. Very quiet too. Looks good in the kitchen. Mine is the white one. Gets everything very clean and dry. Good price value, the best I've found in a name brand. Cons; Mine didn't come with a top insulation blanket so I just used the one from my old dishwasher. I think this helps to quiet it which it definitely is.

Very quiet dishwasher and does a good job cleaning. You have to clean out the trap in the bottom every once in a while or it gets clogged and foul. It also doesnt dry quite as well as advertised. Lets be honest, they quit making dishwashers with the heating element that could actually dry when you could manually run another dry cycle. But its very handy with its top rack and adjustable middle rack.
