I got this product off of a price match with micro-center, specifically for processors like this I recommend price matching them. This is an excellent processor, doesn't bottleneck any graphics card I throw at it and can handle tasks great. I use it with several different graphics cards as I benchmark different systems. The only thing I do have to say about this is its not a generational improvement on the 7600x it's the same performance wise just better temps and tdp.

The other reviews speak volumes. The price point is great for the fantastic performance this CPU delivers. It feels wrong calling it a budget CPU when it handles every modern game I've thrown at it, system virtualization for education, graphic and video editing, without any noticeable dip in performance. It stays within temperature spec just using a budget airflow cooler and well thought out case fan placement. I'd say the power draw could be better, but I bought it knowing it's TDP, so I can't ding it for that.

Blows my 5950x out of the water in gaming; or rather it would if I assembled the system that this going be in sooner. I didn't and now the whole conceit of the build will be horrendously over budget. If DDR5 ever returns to the price it was three months ago then this will be a sweet piece of kit.

Upgrading from an R5 1600 will certainly prove enough to tell a difference. Low power use also made it possible to slap on a smaller cooler in my Meshroom S V2. Gaming performance is as expected, and the CPU isn’t being taxed incredibly hard since I’m gaming at 4K. At least for 4K resolution, I highly recommend saving some money with this CPU and putting the rest into a 5070 Ti / 5080 / 5090 / etc. to get good native frame numbers from newer games.

Pretty big improvement from my 3600x but I expected a little bit more. The only real difference between this and the 7600x is the wattage, the clock speeds are very similar. This means the 9600x runs very cool but I just wish it performed a little better but for the money it's a pretty good value and am5 platform has gotten very cheap.

It's hard to call this a budget CPU coming from an Intel 10th Gen I7, because sure it doesn't have as many cores or as high of a clock speed, but this blows anything from the generation I came from out of the water. Run any game, complete any task, for the newest generation of PC hardware. I keep my workflow very simple, so that's why I'm able to say this so if you need anything stronger probably don't go with this, but if all you do is game, watch movies and occasionally open up a document to work on, this is all you need.

Built a PC myself with this chip. For its price at the time it was great value! Now I can lose my games in 1440p. That's winning in my book

Hands down, a great CPU option for 1440p gaming. Was recommended this for computer builds by Zach’s Tech Turf, and gotta say it’s been great. Even better that I could snag one during the sale, making it roughly $60 cheaper.

Very fast, reliable, futuristic capable cpu ever made. It does consume quite some power so make sure you hace a power supply capable of handling it. It also brings to the table integrated graphics which look amazing. Thermal paste is not included nor is cooling system like the past few generations.
