Very good high-end CPU. Example processing time to comparison from Ryzen 5 3600 vs Ryzen 9 7950x on a 300,00 line spreadsheet with many formulas took about 6 minutes on the Ryzen 5, but now in less than 1 minute on the Ryzen 9. Video rendering is much faster using Corel Video Studio. Currently using AM5 Asus Rog Strix B650E-E MOBO with 32GB G.Skill 6000 cl36 RAM and Samsung 980 gen 4 NVME 7000mbs. vs MSI AM4 B450M Mortar, 16GB 3200, and ADATA 1TB NVME 7,000 mbs SSD. The 7950x has been running non-stop with no hiccoughs for 4 weeks. I'm using a Corsair 240mm AIO water cooler, and CPU temps never throttle.

Ready!!! This must be one of the best Ryzen's I have owned, coming from a 5800x to this is night and day. Sure pricey, but performance is outstanding. My cinabench score was higher ((35,629))see pic, I did buy the Gigabyte x670 from BB but returned it once i saw a different one available somewhere else. The cpu does run on the hotter side but that is to be expected going to zen4 Raphael, the temps were 51 to 57°c on idle when I booted when checked on Ryzen Master. I am using a high end air cooler for this one that I had on my 5800x and it keeps the temps down just as good, just be sure to have a midsize case with plenty of air flow. Now I can say it was worth the extra $150 compared to the R9 5950x, Thanks to BestBuy for the fast checkout and shipping. Be certain to get a midrange motherboard for gaming and light to mid video editing, plus the vcore is also an important to keep the cpu cool also, you want to have at least a 14+2+1 which is the power phase. Next Time: GPU's

I ended up returning a 7950X3D for this 7950X and I couldn't be happier. The 7950X3D is an extremely frustrating CPU to own. You need to make sure you have all the AMD software and drivers installed as well as Microsoft Game Bar running for the 3D V-Cache to make any performance difference in games. But on the other end, this performs fairly poorly in work tasks. It doesn't really want to boost because the 3D V-Cahce CCX can't boost, only the non-3D CCX can boost to 5.7 but the scheduling is only for known-games, not for work. I also found that the 3D V-Cache did nothing for games above 1440p resolution, so there was no point to having it. I returned the 7950X3D for a 7950X and couldn't be happier. The 7950X (non-3D) is a beast. Turn on PBO and match it with CL30 RAM and it flies at 5.7GHz. Both my gaming and productivity performance are better than they were with the 7950X3D at stock. Sure the 7950X3D is faster in some games at 1080p, but are you really playing at 1080p? It's just not worth the hassle. If you're on the fence of which to get, get this one. Hope this helps.

So far been much more stable than the 7900x it was replacing, crushes pretty much everything I throw at it. And I highly recommend an Asus board for this, I'm using an ROG Strix Gaming Wifi X670E and their custom Precision boost is giving me more performance while keeping it under 85C (Though it normally runs lower thanks to custom water loop, AIO is required if you buy this!). Would Recommend and the price difference to the minor improvement of the 7950X3D I'll probably stick with this for the time being.

It doesn't get any better than this. Running in eco mode it still out works most CPUs on the market. No issues, with the kraken keeping it cool I haven't seen above 70° playing two games on dual monitors at 1440p and tagged with the 4080 super

I know intel is great but AMD is way more efficient and better, paired with a 420 Aio cooler and your off to take on any demanding task or game.

Very powerful. Runs pretty hot at high loads, even with 360mm AIO. Currently, have it paired with Radeon 7900XTX, Corsair Vengeance 2x32 6400MT/s CL32 RAM. Even with the lower rating for RAM speeds, my CPU can run the RAM at full speed. AIO is Galahad Trinity. Configuration is 3 fans pushing air out from the case through the AIO, and I have 6 fans pulling air into my case. CPU can hit 96 degrees Celsius on the hottest core at full load. Might suggest a push-pull configuration for other builds with this CPU.

Lets be real this chip is overkill for gaming but my new build was aimed at both gaming and productivity! The speed has tremendously increased my downtime. Highly recommended

I do a mix of Gaming and Video editing. This CPU is literally all I could ask for. Running PBO2 and a Thermal Limit of 85c. Scoring 38k on Cinebench WHILE LIMITED to 85c. CRAZY!

This CPU does it all. Gaming, productivity, mining, multi-tasking. None of that “big/little” core nonsense, either. Just a full 16 performance core 32-thread monster CPU.
