Much like Dylan, Springsteen and Waits, Chicago's Americana metal outfit, Huntsmen, continue the long standing tradition of storytelling in their music. Huntsmen just do it with volume higher and more metallic grit. Whilst storytelling has been - and remains - at the core of all that the band is, they continue to dissolve the boundaries between metal and the more traditional modes of folk and country. 2018 debut American Scrap was recorded at Treehouse Analog Studio in Chicago. The opening, mostly acoustic track InchBury Me Deep,Inch is the perfect first chapter to the album; with it's ending of feedback and electric guitar, it foreshadows something heavy, but then swiftly goes into the dark, moody InchPyre.Inch InchAtlantic CityInch starts off in a post-rock fury, sure to tell-tale some catastrophic event while the album's epic closer, InchThe Last PresidentInch with guest vocalist, Aimee Bueno, is the perfect ending to the story.
