Great Drone! What a Surprise!
The Ameta S50 Lite surprised me on several levels. Let me preface this review by saying...I always learn the hard way - meaning that I don't read directions and get frustrated with things. Surprise 1: The little instruction book is very helpful and is so easy to understand..it spells out things for a simple guy like me. Make sure you follow it...the manufacturer has laid it out in a simple way. Surprise 2: Other drones that I have tried out were hard to control and honestly just not fun...but this one is easy to control, sensitive to your movements without being jerky, obeys the actual button commands and for a beginner like me is perfect. Surpise 3: The photo and video quality - a lot of things say 4K and can end up disappointing - but the views coming back to me were very good! Surpise 4: When it arrived I was taken back by how small and compact the drone was in a cool carrying case but I thought wow this may not be what I was expecting...but it has exceeded my expectations! Note: The battery life for the drone (comes with 2 batteries) and the charge life for the controller is average but both are so easy to recharge. Surprise 5: The app was simple to setup and has incredible features...it took me awhile to learn it but the built in instructions on the app's interface were very helpful. Surprise 6: The price is great for this quality!

Great beginner drone for immediate flying
This is my first time purchasing or flying a drone and I would highly recommend for beginners. Generally speaking, it is easy to get started and immediately feel like an experienced drone pilot without much practice. The materials feel premium for the price and it comes well organized in a compact carrying case with two batteries , charging cables, and some replacement blades. When flying for the first time pay very close attention to the quick start instructions. They are clear and precise, but if you miss any of the steps or ignore the different color indicator lights on the drone it won't fly. But once you learn the initiation process it's very easy to launch and fly. Definitely spend some time with the full manual as well, there are some other features that can take you beyond flying around in circles in a field. The drone doesn't come with a memory card but you can take video and photos in a lower quality straight to the phone photo library. Battery life is solid but probably not suitable for extended/professional usage unless you get some extra batteries. Definitely good enough for flying around and snapping some aerial pics. The controls are smooth and subtle changes in pressure on the joysticks allow for smooth turns and altitude adjustments. If you jerk the controls it will also jerk the turns and create shaky video, but if you ease into it the video is smooth and steady. Beginner mode limits range but honestly the wifi range is a bit limited to the beginner mode range anyway, so I would proceed with caution if expanding range limits. I did notice that after reaching about 30 meters altitude the wifi signal weakens which cans cause some instability when you come back down to a lower altitude. If you keep fairly close to the remote it flies even and steady, but once the signal weakens it seems like calibration is thrown off and it sometimes begins to drift, lose balance, or not really know how close it is to the ground (it usually slows descent considerably when approaching the ground). I had a couple minor crashes after this sort of calibration was thrown off a bit, all you have to do is restart or just recalibrate in the app. I also noticed that any amount of wind can create an extra challenge. The drone is very light and maneuverable, but gusts can carry it quickly away so watch out for breezes. Overall a great beginner drone for people who might be nervous about spending money on a toy like this. Great way to practice flying both by eye and on a monitor. Very fun and enjoyable to fly and definitely will be regularly using this for fun. My 4 yr old boy loves it also!
