Amir Bresler - House Of Arches - VINYL LP

In November 2020, with the entire world locked down at home, Amir Bresler was itching to create. He'd spent years onstage, but never released a full solo album. A friend's invitation brought him to a rural village outside Tel Aviv, and the move lit a spark Bresler set up shop in the village's local auditorium named 'The House of Arches', and planned single-day sessions with different combinations of Tel Aviv's finest, including keyboardist/producer Rejoicer, Yemen Blues frontman Ravid Kahalani, bassist Gilad Abro, pianist Nomok and trumpeter Sefi Zisling. For nearly a week, crews of friends drove north and dug into psychedelic jazz and funk, all built upon Bresler's polyrhythmic beats. They captured spontaneous bursts of energy - free-form jams in the morning reigned into tight, mesmerizing grooves in the afternoon. Those six compositions - each recorded live in one day - make up House of Arches, Amir Bresler's first solo LP, out March 9 on Raw Tapes, with grooves as deep as the Mediterranean where it was conceived.1. Mole's Pirouette2. Landing and Parking feat. Rejoicer3. The Dance of The Messors4. House of Arches5. Despite All feat. Liquid Saloon6. Bir Tawil feat. Ravid Kahalani

Tuxedomoon - Vapour Trails - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Pursuing the creative trails first blazed on 2004's CABIN IN THE SKY and 2006's Bardo Hotel, Vapour Trails finds the members, vocalist, clarinetist, saxophonist and keyboarder Steven Brown, bassist and producer Peter Principle, vocalist, violinist, guitarist and laptop brother Blaine L Reininger and trumpetist Luc Van Lieshout in top form, exploiting their mature vision and instrumental skill to the full. They load their eclectic pallet with a wide and surprising variety of styles and influences, and sing in the languages of the many places they have lived or visited, singing this time not only in English, but in Greek, Spanish and languages of their own devising.

Nim Sadot - Nim Quartet - VINYL LP

In celebration of a KU special double LP repress, Nim-Sadot reflects back on his 2018 debut album, Nim Quartet. At the time of making the album, Sadot hadn't quite found a steady rotation of players to make up a band, which speaks to having three different drummers on the project. However, he did have a clear vision in his head for where the melodies should land, and thought they would be communicated best on trumpet. An instrument that is a constant on every composition, with the exception of one track on the record, InchGood Cat, Bad CatInch, written by keyboardist, Hamish Balfour. The trumpet doesn't feel missing, but it is maybe the biggest shift in feel on the project, and having the knowledge that it's only one of two tunes on 'Nim Quartet' not composed by Sadot, you can certainly hear a different voicing in the music. The repressing of the record is also coming with an album art makeover. The new cover art is by KU goto, Marko Vuleta-Djukanov (Robohands, E. Lundquist).
