About this product

Andra Faye was a member of Saffire - The Uppity Blues Women from 1992 until their retirement in 2009, and has earned a sterling reputation for her multi-stringed versatility, especially for blues mandolin. She was dubbed First Lady of the Blues MandolinInch by Mandolin Magazine in 2013. Her world-class vocals are power packed, with a playful sensuality that perfectly matches the humor and heartache of her material. Scott Ballantine's facility on guitar encompasses Jazz, Blues, Rock & Country. His guitar chops are finely honed by many years of playing and his phrasing is exquisite, almost vocal like in quality. His plucks, slides, bends and vibrato are fluid; Scott doesn't drive a song as much as he floats it all downstream. COULDA WOULDA SHOULDA, the duo's second album together, serves up a baker's dozen of tasty tracks, including eight originals that flow effortlessly on a river of sultry ache and bawdy humor. EnjoyInch... Bill Stagg, Music Promoter (from the liner notes).

Kessoncoda - Outerstate - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Gondwana's newest stars are West London's Kessoncoda, aka drummer Tom Sunney and keyboardist Fil Sowa. Standing firm between acoustic tradition and electronica, they are founded on a unique blend of melodic ostinato-laced piano and unwavering drums. Drawing on their array of musical interests, Fil and Tom take influence from rock, electronica, ambient, breakbeat and soundtracks for film and artists such as Squarepusher, Radiohead and Clark all hot-housed in their unique studio set- up, a shed at the bottom of Tom's garden.

Various Artists - You Should Have Told Me - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Ellen Andersson has been described as two voices in one - the young, curious and the older, experienced - a performer with a rare artistic weight. On November 6, she releases her long-awaited second album in her own name InchYou Should Have Told Me.Inch Since her successful debut in 2016 with InchI'll Be Seeing YouInch, she has been hailed by reviewers and audiences both in Sweden and abroad and has established herself as one of the most prominent voices on the Swedish jazz scene. With millions of streams and hundreds of concerts behind her, she has in recent years been seen and heard on stages and concert halls across the country, including with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Malmö Symphony Orchestra and Norrbotten Big Band - but on the new album she returns to the core jazz quartet, a modern, acoustic sound - contemporary, captivating and personal. About the album, Ellen says InchInterpreting something someone else has written is terribly scary, and one of the most inspiring things I know. I think we develop the most when we get to reflect in other people, and for me it applies at least as much to the music. From that comes this album, where I with horror-mixed delight wanted to shed new light on music that has etched itself with me, and also feels so close that I easily forget that many of the songs were written a long time ago.
