Angelo Debarre Quartet - Impromptu - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

By all accounts a truly virtuoso performer known as 'the Paganini of the flute', the Italian Cesare Ciardi wrote principally for his own instrument, his works forming the basis of acclaimed concert performances that took him to many prestigious venues.

Dedicated to gypsy-swing's world capital, Romane's album Samois-sur-Seine captures the atmosphere of the gypsy-bars and restaurants on the banks of the river Seine. Romane's guests are some of the greatest players on the manouche scene, including guitarists Angelo Debarre and Babik Reinhardt and violinist Florin Niculescu. Romane also broadens his vocabulary by inviting the great classical guitarist Roland Dyens. This fifth volume in the complete works of Romane, recorded in the magical atmosphere of the town where Django Reinhardt was laid to rest, provides unique testimony to the virtuosity and vitality of the gypsy-music scene.
