Anik Khan - Onek [VINYL LP] Brown, Colored Vinyl date 02/13/2026

On the heels of her Geoff Barrow-produced debut album, Anika returns with a self-titled EP in spring. Anika's version of The Kinks' lovelorn classic I Go To Sleep leads the EP, which also features brand new covers of songs by The Crystals (He Hit Me), Chromatics (In The City) and Shocking Blue (Love Buzz) as well as dub versions of previous singles Yang Yang and No One's There. Now based in Berlin, Anika retains strong ties to the Bristol scene where it all began, following a coincidental meeting with producer Geoff Barrow and his freeform kraut band Beak . Barrow was initially on the search for a vocalist for his experimental new group but as the relationship developed it became clear that 'Anika' was a collaborative project in it's own right. Anika EP will be accompanied by a video for I Go To Sleep, directed by Uli M. Schueppel, a Berlin film director known for his 1990s Nick Cave biopic, A Road To God Knows Where. The video was shot in the forests of Brandenburg, and it's ending invites speculation about this phase in Anika's career. Recently performing with her new Berlin-based line-up across Europe, including a home show in Berlin's legendary Berghain club, Anika has just confirmed a long-overdue return to the UK, joining the bill for the Yeah Yeah Yeah's curated ATP at London's Alexandra Palace on May 4th, 2013. The EP was recorded in Bristol at State of Art Studios, with Beak members Billy Fuller and Matt Williams, as well as Andy Sutor (drums) and Rasha Shaheen (keys/vox/guitar), who have made up Anika's touring band for the last three years. The tracks were all produced by Geoff Barrow and Beak .
![Celeste Rodrigues - Art of the Portuguese Fado - COMPACT DISCS [CD]](https://pisces.bbystatic.com/image2/BestBuy_US/images/products/0684fc6d-1b4b-47fc-98f7-c857f4e0a940.jpg;maxHeight=422;maxWidth=264?format=webp)
The great Portuguese fado singer Celeste Rodrigues is the younger sister of the great Amalia Rodrigues, the undisputed Queen of fado - a form of music originated in Portugal which dates back to the early 1800's characterized by mournful tunes and lyrics. It is a mixture of African slave rhythms with the traditional music of Portuguese sailors and has distinct Arabic influences. Modern fado is generally performed by a singer, a Portuguese guitar and a classical guitar, often accompanied by the sound of the singer's shoe heels accentuating the rhythm. On this classic recording, Celeste follows in her sister's footsteps, delivering a powerful program of traditional fado classics in her inimitable style. All selections newly remastered.

Born out of the collaboration between Barcelona producers BeGun and Ocellot, Akkan are one of the most exciting acts to come out of the current global electronic music scene that has been redefining dance music with the use of world grooves and organic sounds. The duo came together after a shamanic and hallucinogenic journey in Southern Africa, during which the two Catalan musicians started working on what would become their signature sound; club-oriented organic electronica characterized by jungle sounds, shimmering analog synths, tribal percussions, exotic vocals, trippy melodies and folk instruments that flow in a stimulating and highly contagious fashion. The album, composed as a journey, was produced between the duo's studios in the Irish countryside and Barcelona embracing the different global musical influences they encountered during their adventures. From field recordings taken from the streets of Mexico while touring, collaborations with local producers to setting up sound-systems in the foreign places they stayed during their nomadic life. The final product is as eclectic as sincere, an album born in several places around the world, inspired by different sounds. InchWe love African music, also the new Latin sounds coming from South America, we even take from Arabic influences and Japanese psychedelia. It's the fusion between folklore and electronica that allows us to take the best of both worlds and to create something completely new.
