Anna Kasyan - Handel: Chamber Cantatas - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Composed during his Italian stay at the beginning of the 18th century, at a time when women were not often allowed to appear in front of an audience, Handel's cantatas paint a nuanced picture of the opera heroine. Italian prima donna Margherita Durastanti, one of the few professional female singers of the period, delighted listeners with her brilliant interpretations of these works. On this , 2013 Vincenzo Bellini Belcanto Competition winner Anna Kasyan expresses the multiple shades of a woman's emotional life in a theatrical and virtuoso program.
