Anne Bisson - Portraits and Perfumes - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Gothenburg avant garde jazz outfit Pow Wow defies categorization. The group's influences dance from Swedish folklore to Native American, from lyric ballads to standards, from earworms to freeform treks through jazz history. And small wonder, as some members have been exploring the avant garde idiom together since 1975. The crew brings their individually formidable talents together again to Inchwop 'n wowInch listeners with their collective power.

Limited repress now on white vinyl. The artwork sleeve is reverse board black - and includes the 'London' poem written by Arlo Parks. Artwork sleeve both front and back created by Arlo Parks. Includes InchSophieInch, a song about Inchcrumbling under expectations and feeling helpless, but with a persistent, quiet sense of hope underpinning itInch. True to form, it's a melodic and beautifully articulated sonnet, cementing the notion that she is overwhelmingly considered the majestic voice of Generation Z.

Pianist and vocalist Anne Bisson is joined by drummer Paul Brochu, bassist Frederic Alarie, and cellist Vincent Belanger for InchTales From the TreetopsInch, her follow-up to InchBlue MindInch. All but one of the songs are performed in English. Anne also performs a duet with special guest international soprano Suzie LeBlanc. Contains 14 New Songs. InchI feel Tales 'From The Treetops' is the true follow-up to 'Blue Mind'... a collection of people and their tales we've already met in that first album. The themes behind 'Little Black Lake' are still very much present and the characters move around a natural, savage landscape. We will discover still more about the magnificent 'Lady of the Black Lake', as we follow her journey from childhood (I Live in a Treehouse) to her final days (Winter's Coming). These are songs of emotion, passion, love and mourning... Inch - Anne Bisson -Recorded live at Les Studios Opus, December 2013, L'Assomption QC Canada and mastering by Marc-Olivier Bouchard, Le LAB Mastering, Montreal QC Canada.
