TL;DR - If you're willing to put up with a terrible stand (or have a VESA mount) and deal with a somewhat bare-bones selection of ports, this monitor delivers great picture quality at a pretty strong price point. Things I like: - The HDR performance is amazing on both Windows and MacOS. While it doesn't come close to my MacBook Pro's display, it puts up a good fight and, for the price, it's hard to beat on HDR performance alone. - SDR performance is good, and it still gets brighter than most monitors in its price range. - Local dimming is fantastic; I don't seem to have any of the issues regarding the local dimming bug; black uniformity and contrast are impeccable. It's no OLED, but there's also zero risk of permanent image retention (burn-in). Things I don't like: - You're limited to 8-bit color at the full 180hz; if you want 10-bit color, you're stuck at 120hz or below for refresh rate. Definitely a bummer. - Out-of-the-box color accuracy could be better. It's not awful, but it is oversaturated. - Viewing angles are merely okay. - The stand is horrid. I immediately went to using an VESA mount. - Feature set is barebones; only 1 DP and 1 HDMI, no USB hub, and the stand is tilt adjustment only. For >$300 I can't really complain, but these are negatives. - It's a VA panel, so ghosting is present, but with the overdrive set to "faster" it's barely noticeable. - No joystick for OSD control, and using the buttons is a little awkward.

Many of the reviews are both true and false. Yes, if you take it out of the box and slap on HDR, all of the colors look terrible. Yes, an all white screen is like staring into the face of the sun. Yes, the colors require significant tweaking, And yes, the configuration is very limiting due to all of the software locks. However, with all that said, you can absolutely tweak this display to look AMAZING for the price. I spent about 5 days tweaking and ultimately landed on the following settings to get an amazing picture quality for both gaming, modeling, programming, and every day use: -Game Color 13 -Overdrive: Faster -Contrast: 62 -Gamma: 2.4 -Color Temp: Normal -Color Space: Native -LowBlue: Office -Local Dimming: Medium -HDR Off -Windows Color Management On Yes, that's right - I'm not using HDR. I'm still in the opinion that it's not practical, since it only introduces more compatibility issues with many applications and games and this monitor can't reliably handle the full 4:4:4 signal above 120hz refresh rate. Despite turning off HDR, this combo results in a perfect balance of true to life colors while looking very vibrant. If you don't use the Windows color management, you get reds that look oversaturated, and the LowBlue setting reigns in the panels tendency to get blue crazy. I spent hours trying to manually dial in the color space on the panel until realizing the Windows ICC profile works so much better. Now I'm running at 1440p with 180hz on an Nvidia card without hacking the resolution profile, using display port via usb-c alt mode for my laptop. It's stable using a Cable Matters passive adapter. For Acer users, you MUST use the "Automatic" mode in PredatorSense for this to be reliable. Otherwise, you have to disconnect and reconnect the USB cable on every boot to make the DP over USB handshake stable. If you use HDMI, doesn't matter what setting you use but you'll be capped at 144hz refresh. Occasional flicker if you leave framerate uncapped on a game but vsync fixes that. There is minor black smearing if you look at the UFO test but I can't observe it in real world gaming. Do NOT use "Fastest" overdrive mode, as it is far worse with smearing if you run a high refresh rate. I almost returned this monitor, but the blacks are amazing and colors approach OLED quality without the text fringing issues that most 1440p OLED panels still have today. It is overly bright and has a very accurate colors if you use sRGB color space and turn off local dimming. It's still a little too bright honestly but you can tweak that to your tastes as needed by adjusting contrast. If you don't care about brightness, lots of IPS screens with similar specs for the same price that are much less of a hassle to tune. Pro tip: Install the AOC G-Menu software to tweak the monitor directly from Windows instead of having to mess with all of the settings in the OSD. Disable the auto-startup after you're done tweaking unless you want to setup some macros to change monitor settings, but this is also a great way to work around the brightness issues.

Pros, 1. This is a great looking 1440p 180hz display that's great for PC and console gaming, watching movies, watching internet videos and content creation. 2. It's a VA panel with mini led technology so it give a great display for a great price. It's picture is close yo some OLED oanel, but not that good though. 3. 180hz refresh rate with single player games is great. 4. Having Adaptive Sync makes this monitor idea for Nvidia and AMD GPUs so you don't get screen tearing. 5. It's HDR 1200 and has over 1100 local dimming zones do the contrat it great, the brightness is great and the black are good(look under cons). Thus is great for warching movies and HDR gaming. 6. The stand is better than I expected from other reviewers(look under cons). 7. It has a 100 VESA mount for mounting to a wall or using a better stand. 8. It had an included Display Port cable of good quality. 9. For being mostly plastic the build quality seems decent. 10. The response latency is below 1ms. Very smooth. Cons, 1. This is a VA panel so for best viewing you have to be looking at the display at a fairly straight angle. 2. Even though the blacks are good it's still a good bit behind an OLED monitors, but I'll say OLED monitors do cost a lot moe money and risk screen burn in. 3. If you're a competitive Esports and First person shooter player this monitor probably isn't ideal for you. IMO you're better off getting a 240hz non-HDR 1440p monitor which many are of good quality and can be found cheaper. 4. This is a sidegrade from the previous 27 inch budget display. The stand is cheaper eith limited motion, it has less video inputs and the input are slower at HDMI 2.0 and DP 1.2 so the response time isn't going to always be as great. 5. From point 4, some users have reported their Nvidia GPUs can't go beyond 170hz while using Adaptive Sync. I didn't encounter this issue, but my momitor may have never firmware. By the way, there's no USB ports for firmware updates. 6. Even though the stand is usable I'd recommend either getting an aftermarket VESA mount stand or VESA mount to the wall so you don't risk this monitor being knocked over. 7. Last, this us only a 1440p momitor so don't expect 4k out of it. I will say since it's only 27 inches the display seems really sharp. I was considering buying a 32 inch monitor, but I don't have enough room in my desk area, the pixel per square inch wouldn't be as sharp and 32 inches is overkill for my vision. Orher people nay have a different prefer so again may sure you know what you want. All in all I don't regret this monitor since I'm not a competitive gamer and I love the smoothness of 180hz and less than 1ms of response time. I'm using a RTX 5099 which you may say that HPU is overkill for tgat monitor, but my use for that GOU is more than gaming, it's also about upscaling and editing my old DVDs, Blurays, movie files and pictures so monitor size isn't as important as it clearity. This monitor has great clarity.

It has HDR good color quality, and is super bright. Overall the display looks great but the only issue is the stand it barely tilts and is wobbly and is super short and won't adjust. im not joking it felt like they made a great display first and only had pocket change for the stand. Overall its great just get a VESA mount for it which is still good value. the stand it comes with is super short which you can see in the picture I usually keep speakers under mine and it is just too short

Nothing wrong with the product at all, exactly as promised, I mean I upgraded from a really base level monitor so I can't compare to those but from what I can see picture quality, colors, etc. are all pleasing & HDR works and makes a noticeable difference, the local dimming is there

Good value overall on paper, but it has a lot of drawbacks I think people should be aware of. The good: HDR is FANTASTIC, true HDR 1000 with amazing colors and the monitor can get SUPER bright. Even in SDR the colors look great and the VA smear you normally get is easily fixed by setting overdrive to "fast". Sadly, the main reason I got this was to play HDR content on Nintendo Switch 2. I found out quickly that while the DisplayPort connection looks normal, HDMI connection has a weird screen-door CRT effect to it. It's not super noticeable but every time I boot into Mario Kart World I just sit there staring at it thinking "... man, I should've spent a little more money." It's not bad enough to want to go through a return but... Also, local dimming is NOT going to be even close to OLED, I just keep it off. You get this super annoying dimming effect while using it for desktop things, like browsing youtube or apps. For example, one video in your feed will look really bright, but the next will have a super dim thumbnail and the video title is at like half brightness. It's super janky. The worst thing about it though is black screens almost look purple, ESPECIALLY at off-angles. Every time I shut my PC down I see the black screen and it looks like a weird smeary purple mess. (see pic) It's not noticeable too much in day to day use but I'm still disappointed. Build quality is crap but that's to be expected, I had to put it on a cardboard box. The OSD/Menu is decent but it doesn't have a directional nub, just crappy stiff buttons so the screen sways like its in a hurricane whenever you wanna adjust something. I would only recommend this for people who want to get into HDR content for cheap using Display Port only. For everyone else I'd say save a little and get a 150 dollar IPS display or jump up to OLED. This is a compromise for sure, but not one so bad I feel like I got scammed or anything.

This panel truly rivals OLED. The dimming zones and local dimming make dark zones perfect all while allowing for incredible brightness, colors that pop beautifully, and with no risk of burn in. If you want the best thing next to OLED without paying the premium prices. This is it!

Really happy with the build quality and the color on this monitor when gaming and browsing. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a mini-led monitor! (In picture: this monitor is on the left abd compared to my previous monitor that is on the right)

Moving from 1080p ips to this 1440p mini led is such a big difference! The black is so much better and the picture quality so way more clearer than my 1080p ips monitor. This picture below have nightlight on and it was next to my window so keep that in mind

Pretty good monitor on a very bad stand. I didn't really care as I am using with a vesa mount. Monitor hit 1300 nits in the HDR calibration tool , I could feel the heat from 30" away, but what really made it pop was adjusting the saturation in the AMD Adrenalin software under Settings> Display> Custom Color. In order to get the best image you have to cap the framerate at 120FPS due to the Display Port really being not fully DP1.4 spec. I am using a Vesa certified DP 2.1 and with HDR on 144Htz will cause the monitor to switch to 8 bit color, So you'll have to pick which is most important to you. Mine has had a black screen issue that started off very infrequently, but has increased until it has become unusable. Which is what brings me here today. Overall, if you know the limitations it's a great Vesa certified 1000 nit(or more) panel with 1152 dimming zones. Get a high quality Display Port cable, but understand that it simply cannot do all the claimed specs at the same time due to a bandwidth issue

Probably one of the best bang-for-your-buck in 1440p mini-LED monitors. And this is a Best-Buy exclusive item, so don't think you're going to "find it cheaper" somewhere else. DP or HDMI connection, Max Refresh Rate 180 w/ DP only, over 1000 dimming zones so it gives INKY blacks. A great choice if you're thinking about getting an OLED but don't want to invest the money or are worried about some of OLED downsides. Color is great, too. HDR is very muted, however, and I don't recommend using that.

Has amazing vibrant colors and immersive quality display for gaming. Such a good deal for a mini led display monitor. Deep blacks also make the monitor feel premium and worth it. Will recommend to anyone looking for a monitor for gaming and/or watching shows. Very easy to add VESA mounts to the back for flexibility.

I like the monitor enough that I've bought it twice. For $250 it's the best monitor in its price range by a pretty good margin. 1152 dimming zone VA Panel mini led monitors like this typically go for $400-$500 depending on the brand. The picture looks great, and it gets eye searingly bright in HDR with incredible blacks (make sure to run Windows HDR calibration tool if your using HDR). All of that being said, there are three primary downsides to this monitor. The first is a small one, being that you can't upgrade the monitors firmware. Typically most people won't even know they can do this, but bugs can pop up such as when this monitor was first released, and without a method to update the firmware they can't be fixed. The second, and more important downside is the display port being limited to 1.4. This typically isn't an issue for 1440p, but Nvidia cards have an issue where you can't run 1440p 180hz with HDR at 10bit. You either have to lower the refresh rate to 120hz or drop the HDR to 10bit, greatly lowering the number of possible colors. Most people probably won't care about this, but it's still an issue worth mentioning. The third downside is the included stand, which will impact everyone not using a VESA mount. It's terrible. It can only rotate up and down. It can't swivel, it can't move up and down, and it can't rotate. If your getting this monitor you really need to get a cheap arm or replacement stand. One last note, I would highly recommend changing the HDR profile fram the default game to displayHDR. It's a personal preference thing but it looks far better, with the game mode being pretty dim and displayHDR not only being overall brighter, but also having much brighter highlights. Overall it's a great monitor with some downsides that most people probably won't care about a side form the terrible stand. It looks great, has great features, and is the best monitor in this price range. I'm just getting into gaming again and I really like it. Of course I didn't really look around too much, it was suggested by some program that happened to popup on the screen when i asked about monitors. It's crisp clear and fast with my RTX card.

Had this monitor for about a month and I am still blown away by the picture for the price. I was contemplating this or OLED and while I still would like an OLED I can’t help but be concerned about the longevity as I rarely upgrade. Mini LED is the sweet spot for me in terms of price, picture and longevity. To put it into perspective, my 6 year old asked if I had gotten a new computer the first time he saw me using it. If a 6 year old can see the difference, I’m sure you will as well.

Great gaming monitor with excellent contrast, vibrant colors, and outstanding image quality for the price.

Coming from an ASUS VG279Q1A, a 27-inch 1080p165 IPS monitor, I was cautious of the VA panel on this monitor, especially because of the lack of ergonomic adjustments unlike its predecessor, the Q27G3XMN. Fortunately, I always look at my monitor dead on and the tilt it is set to out of the box with my desk’s height works out just right. The terrible black smearing GIFs I’ve seen with scrolling white text on a black background? Not an issue — it looks just like my old monitor. There is a single dead pixel, ironically fairly close to the same spot as one on my old monitor. But this one shows as black for most colors and not red, which is a lot less distracting. Not bad enough for me to initiate a return. Regarding the elephant in the room: this unit does have the strong local dimming + DisplayHDR bug that persists into SDR mode, which is unfortunate. However, given I rarely (okay, never) consume HDR content, I stick to SDR mode. According to AOC G-MENU, this is running Firmware v1.4 which is the same version as the unit reviewed by Rtings. This unit was manufactured in July 2025. I’m not sure there is an updated version of this monitor as some have suspected given how this issue still persists nearly half a year after the initial units. But if you intend on using the DisplayHDR mode with Strong Local Dimming and not Medium, I would turn away. There is not a way to activate that combination without colors being washed out. If the AOC logo turns Yellow and not Orange after turning on those settings, you know your unit has the issue. I use the “HDR Picture” mode. Yes, this does oversaturate the colors and locks out most of the OSD controls. One of the HDR options (even in SDR) is required to pass the Blur Busters Black Level test. With it on, I am barely able to see the “0” and black bars moving, which is not the case with it off. Side note, I am unable to see the numbers below 4 on my old monitor unless I crank up its Shadow Boost setting to max, which makes everything else look worse. However, the HDR settings do oversaturate the colors in general. I can tone it down in the AMD driver settings (which also lets you adjust brightness after it gets locked out by the OSD), but I found a better solution. If I apply Windows Auto Color Management on top, the saturation is toned down and looks about what I would like it to look. Out of the box I do find all the modes to be a bit too red, so I use Windows’ color calibration utility to tone those down a fair bit, along with a tiny bit of blue. Thanks to ACM, the monitor is still capable of displaying Display P3 colors despite using said utility which isn’t meant to be used for configuring wide-gamut profiles. Regarding local dimming: I keep it on low for general use in Windows. It is very obviously brighter than the highest brightest setting with it off (I believe reviews mention a 500 —> 600 nits jump). Low is the only mode where I find it very difficult to notice uneven lighting on the Windows desktop. Any higher and it’s very obvious where AOC’s algorithm has dimmed bright pixels to mask blooming, especially on full black backgrounds with small bright spots. In game though? Crank it up all the way to Strong. Despite complaints about the OSD, I find it fairly intuitive to use and adjust the local dimming for my needs (albeit wobbles the monitor on its included stand). The fact that this monitor can display pure blacks like an OLED can is amazing and really enhances the viewing experience in dark environments when gaming. On the optimal Overdrive mode of Faster, I do notice overshoot in various spots while running around in Counter-Strike 2, such as the ceiling when entering B tunnels from T spawn on Dust II. It gets less and less noticeable as I turn the refresh rate down (165 feels like a sweet spot). That said I’m keeping it at 180 because it would be annoying swapping it around just to play one game. And this may be software-related, but I get flickering when flipping my mouse between monitors while in any game if the refresh rate is set to anything but 180Hz. I did try out the HDR briefly, but I simply don’t play games where it would benefit, so I would just be using Windows’ Auto HDR feature. It looks good in some spots but washes out colors in others. I just didn’t think it was worth it, especially when it blinds my eyes when viewing the Genshin Impact loading screen (a full 1300 nits of pure white!). Final verdict: I am keeping this monitor as it fulfills my needs and is an upgrade over my old monitor (especially with contrast + blacks), but there are a lot of caveats. It is very obvious that cost cutting measures were put in to get the price down to this level (in my case, $219.99 during the Black Friday sale after applying a $10 certificate). If any of the negatives I mentioned above are dealbreakers after purchasing this, the return button is right there for 30 days.

great monitor!! has some of the best color ratios iv ever seen and such an affordable price for anyone looking to get into miniled/oled.

So far its amazing you can feel and see the difference from regular 1440p and out the box does not bother my eyes minor adjustments and good to go

This mini-led monitor looks fantastic. Great contrast and btightness. Minimal halo. Great for streaming content and working. I don't game. Thinking about purchasing another.
