This is an absolutely wonderful and surprisingly powerful little speaker! It’s also absolutely packed with awesome features and it works so effortlessly and seamlessly with any Apple device. Setup literally takes less than 2 minutes; just hold your device near it and it’ll automatically register it. It also has the ability to control your entire smart home with Siri, as well as the ability to do all other features Siri can do. I absolutely love the cool colors they come in, and I also love that you can pair two of these together in one room to make a set of stereo speakers. It’s roughly the size of a softball, but it has the power and sound of a speaker triple it’s size. It also has 360° audio as well as the ability to play music in spatial audio from Apple Music. And the price of it makes it an absolute bargain, making it very easy to have one for the entire family in each of their bedrooms, which also allows you to fully utilize the intercom function of HomePods, which is a super cool feature that works exactly like it sounds, acting as intercoms throughout the whole house to each speaker or to only certain speakers you choose, and you’re able to use this feature from your phone to communicate with someone at home on their HomePod. These are the absolute coolest smart speakers that also offer excellent sound quality and beautiful aesthetics and work flawlessly with Apple products, so it’s especially great for those who already have and own Apple products, but it’s also great for those without any Apple products as well.

The HomePod mini is a fantastic speaker for its tiny size. It’s packed with features like controlling your smart home, playing music, and Apple’s smart assistant Siri. It’s super easy to use - just say “Hey Siri,” and your request is instantly fulfilled. It even has a built-in temperature and humidity sensor! You can control your smart home by asking for the temperature in the room, turning on lights, smart plugs, and even running scenes. It’s a Thread and Matter hub, so it can connect to any devices labeled “Works with HomeKit” or “Matter”. It works seamlessly with the Apple Ecosystem - you can send texts, receive and make calls, make reminders, check your calendar, and more. The HomePod mini is a real powerhouse for its small size, but it’s a bit pricey compared to other options.

I recently upgraded my bedroom entertainment and grabbed a HomePod mini to seal the deal, and Apple—being Apple—always impresses. For a smart speaker the size of an actual apple, it sounds absolutely impeccable. I can’t stress it enough: I don’t use it often to blast music, but when I do, it gets me every time. It’s absolutely amazing. I have it on a small dresser, and when I’m playing something, you can place your hand on the dresser and feel the bass. I can’t stress enough how amazing this little thing is for its small and compact size. The Handoff feature feels like magic every time. Whenever someone asks me about it, I show them by playing some music on my iPhone and then tapping the top of my iPhone to the HomePod, and it always impresses all my friends. It’s also super useful aside from impressing people. No more fiddling around with Bluetooth connections in Control Center—all I need to do is touch the HomePod with my phone, and that’s it. Music will continue playing from it. And that’s not all. There’s also an onboard thermometer and humidity sensor, so I can ask Siri what the temperature or humidity is inside my room. It also sends the information to the Apple Home app, so you can check the temperature inside your rooms wherever you are. There’s still more it can do when set up with other HomeKit accessories. For example, I also have an Apple HomeKit smart light switch, and I have that and the HomePod set up in my room in the Home app. I can simply say, “Hey Siri, turn on/off the light,” and it knows what room it’s registered to in the Home app and which specific HomePod you’re talking to. It turns the lights on or off in my room just from me asking. I don’t need to be more specific. And that’s not all. When set up with multiple iCloud accounts that have “Hey Siri” enabled, it can differentiate between voices and provide each person with their own notifications and phone calls. All you need to do is say, “Hey Siri, what notifications do I have?” From there, it recognizes who you are and tells you only your notifications. If someone else asks, it will tell them theirs. With multiple HomePods in different rooms, they can also function as an intercom system in your own home. I mean, you will never find anything else that beats that for the price. This thing is absolutely amazing. If you don’t have one already, you’re missing out. I would absolutely, 110%, recommend this to anyone.

I bought a HomePod mini for each of my kids’ bedrooms, and they absolutely love them. The sound quality is way better than I expected for the size — clear, rich, and just right for music, audiobooks, and even sleep sounds at night. Setup was super easy with my iPhone, and now the kids use Siri to play their favorite songs, ask questions, or set alarms for school. It’s become part of their daily routine. I also like that I can use Intercom from my phone to call them to dinner — no more yelling upstairs! Plus, everything is safe and controlled through my Apple ID and Home app. If you’re in the Apple ecosystem and want something kid-friendly that still sounds amazing, the HomePod mini is a great choice. Compact, stylish, and very family-friendly.

Great sound for a desktop setup, Siri is really handy to have on command without having to pick up your iPhone while working. The lights on the top of the speaker are helpful to know if your command was heard, which it almost always is even if you whisper. 4 months free Music and Apple TV are a plus. Setup is easy, all you need to do is put your iPhone right on top of the speaker and follow the directions.

This HomePod Mini is perfect for my small office. I have the Razer Nommo Chroma speakers but connectivity to multiple machines has been a pain. That’s where this little beauty comes in. Seamless transfer of my music from listening in the car to coming home by hovering my phone over it. I have less reliance on Bluetooth, which in a room of 4 computers, two tablets, a wifi station and Wireless headsets it’s definitely needed as I was getting a lot of interference. Siri can hear me even when the music is loud and I like the ambient noises that can play any time. I look forward to getting another so I can put them in stereo mode! As it is, the sound quality is amazing with decent bass!

Set up was quick, easy, and simple. iPhone compatibility is unmatched. Sounds amazing, listens even better, and interacts with other at home accessories better than any other.

The best smart speaker I’ve ever owned. I love how I can listen to my music throughout the entire house. I even use two of them as TV speakers, and the sound quality is significantly better than the factory TV speakers. Plus, it’s much cheaper than a sound bar.

As I wrote in my other review about my second HomePod.. these are awesome and I should add they are awesome when they come in pairs! One in my bathroom and one in my room. I can wake up in my room, gather the clothes I want for my shower, maybe play some video games before my shower, then go take my shower and do my morning routine. All while listening to the same music and not having to touch my phone at all. Only gripe I have is that it plays the clean version of songs whenever I ask through “Hey Siri”

I recently purchased an Apple HomePod for myself as a little b-day gift. After living with the speaker for a while, here is what I can offer. 1. Set-up is perhaps the easiest I've ever done for a network device. Plug it in, hold your iPhone near it, and it automatically starts the set-up for you. Click a few buttons on your phone to complete the set-up and you're up and running in like a few minutes. Very nice. 2. Once set up, using the speaker is amazingly simple, yet feature-rich. "Hey Siri, play some Coltrane", or "Hey Siri, play Music for Airports by Brian Eno" and in about 2 seconds, it starts playing. Too loud or quiet? Just say "Hey Siri, raise/lower the volume" and it'll take care of that. 3. Ask it the weather, or what your appointments are for tomorrow. It seems like it can pretty much do it all. 4. The "ring" issue. Some people have found that the speaker can leave a ring on some wood surfaces. You can go ahead and buy a little $10 stand to put it on. I just used a folded piece of paper. Works great. 5. Let's talk about sound. Plenty of reviews talk about the great sound, and for its size, the sound is impressive. Don't expect your HomePod to sound like Tannoys or a nice pair of vintage Klipschorns, but the sound is pretty good. It's an active speaker, so it adjusts its sound reproduction based on its surroundings. So don't worry too much about where you're putting it. It can adjust. Speaking of Coltrane, I played "A Love Supreme" and was actually impressed. The bass solo sounded pretty decent, not as muddy as I would expect a small woofer to be. The drum solo sounded relatively tight. The piano was missing a bit of brightness, but still more than passable. Sax just stood out nicely. Overall, the sound was more natural that I was expecting, and definitely better than the artificial sound you'd get from a similarly-sized speaker from Bose. 6. Volume control. You can tell it to raise or lower the volume, or tape the plus/minus sign on top. I do wish the volume increments were a bit smaller, though. Raising the volume sometimes is a bit too high and I wish it could raise it just a little bit less. But this is a minor issue in my book. 7. The power cord. OK, yeah, I'm making a point of the power cord. They actually give you a decent-length cord! I know this seems like a small issue, but I do get tired of getting electronics that have these short, dinky power cords. In all, I think this would make a fine addition to your home, assuming you are well-invested in the Apple ecosystem.

Realistically I would give this like a 4.5 star review. Its not perfect, "Alexa" and "hey google" are probably better androids and the price for the home pod mini is higher than the similar sized product from amazon and google. But in the end, this is a beautiful, clean, reliable and secure device that sounds SIGNIFICANTLY better than the Google home mini and echo dot, like its not even close. I plan to get a couple more and would like to hear how much better stereo pairing the music would be. It doesn't bother me that Siri isn't as smart as the others, but it for sure is the safest and most secure at protecting your privacy. my only dock on this would be the price vs its direct competitors, but to me, the quality and sound more than make up for it. Especially as your turn up the volume, it still sounds great and doesn't dilute like the competitors. I'm also impressed at how lightly I can say "Hey Siri" when the music is loud and she will still hear me. I'm impressed.

I have been intrigued by this product since released, and frustrated with Apple's pricing practices and desire to be a "top tier" company by only offering high end high price products. This device always seemed a bit overpriced and unnecessary for me as I have a nice sound system connected to my TV, but I wanted something for Home Kit control. I like Apple's focus on encryption and privacy especially with the alway on always listening home controlling devices like this. I have apple Home Kit enabled devices in my house, and wanted a quick way for my pet sitter to turn them on and off when she comes in. I tried the Amazon dot last year, but found it difficult to setup and you need to have the always listening feature on. It also required setting up my already existing already working HomeKit enabled devices in the Alexa app which was hit and miss. I was waiting and hoping that Apple would release a cheaper version of this with less speaker and more control. Then Best Buy had this on holiday sale for 100 dollars off retail price. I figured it was worth a try knowing I had time to return it if it did not work. I set it up in seconds yesterday, and immediately transferred the podcast I was listening to on my phone to the speaker. I often wear headphones around the house and listen to music or podcasts throughout the day. This makes it easy to transfer what I am listening to via my phone airplay button and I can hear it clearly from anywhere in the downstairs. It sounds amazing and is so much easier to use to listen to anything on my phone. Yes you can use it without the Hey Siri feature listening. You can press and hold the center of the top panel which prompts Siri so I can turn off the "always listening" or if it does that annoying digital assistant thing where it mishears something I say that sounds vaguely like "Hey Siri" and becomes disruptive (This has not happened yet). I also like that in the Home app on my iPhone I can turn off the Home pod analytics which will not share my always on always listening recordings with Apple or anyone else. I wish the $200 price was not a promotion, but the retail price. After 1.5 days it has proven its worth and made me realize something I was overtly critical of and uninterested in is as good as I was sure it was not. I like being proven wrong. I am not sure I would pay $300 for it at full price, but if it keeps impressing me like this I might eat those words as well.

Having purchased a pair of Home Pods on on launch day from Best Buy (at the $349 price) I've been a long-time fan of the smart speaker category. It wasn't long before my Google Home and Amazon Echos became paperweights. This HomePod mini at a $99 price point makes for the perfect stocking stuffer or even primary gift. In fact it does some things even better than the original. Sound quality is amazing, particular when paired with another for left/right Stereo. Even solo, they produce surprisingly full volume from a small sphere. Siri still trails the other smart assistance, and sends me to my phone more than I care to admit, but the utility of these are amazing. Adding them to rooms in your house makes your abode that much more accessible. Also cool is the ability to schedule or add events to play specific music or playlist based on a trigger (Wake up event, bed time chime, sunrise, sunset, etc. ). We used an Eve outlet to turn on Christmas tree, so "Siri, Christmas time" turned it on, dimmed other (Lutron Caseta) lights, and started playing Christmas Music throughout the house. My wife and I purchased a dozen of these between BB and Apple, mostly as gifts. The responses have been overwhelmingly positive, especially among those who's only other Apple device is an iPhone, thus making this an excellent gateway entry expanding usage on the ecosystem. The new to iOS 14 feature for HomePod mini has to be the INTERCOM. With it you can use your iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, or other HomePod to communicate with Mini's in other rooms. "Hey Siri, intercom, We're starting the movie", or "has anyone taken the dogs out?". Your voice is then played either through the HomePods and mini's in every room, specific rooms, or just a floor (based on the room and floor you select upon setup) Family members then "reply, I did, got it" or whatever. This sure beats the 70s built-in wall units of yesteryear. Additionally the new Mini sports Thread Mesh Networking protocol, so the more Thread devices you add, the more redundant, and wider your mesh network becomes. We're also starting to see other manufactures support Thread, namely $20 Nanoleaf interactive color light bulbs. The HomePod is something really special that will expand its options as updates come available over time. The sound on this impeccable piece of engineering is absolutely INCREDIBLE. I’m a audiophile at heart. I have to have the best of the best when it comes to sound. This has 7-speakers that offer crisp and clear keynotes that can make you hear things that you normally couldn’t in the smart speaker world. I also have a Sonos and believe me when I say this that the sound comparison between the Apple’s HomePod and the Sony’s Sonos has a marginal gap. I was blown away by how impressive the HomePod sounds. The microphone also has pretty good range. I was 3 rooms away and Siri picked up what I said (with kids running in the background) and played 80s Rock. That was impressive for a small but heavy speaker. Speaking of heavy. That is due to the magnet that is in this speaker. The bass that comes from this thing is MIGHTY impressive. I’ve had friends come over during the weekend and they never guessed it was coming from the HomePod. They thought it was my Bose Home Theatre system that I usually have on. Needless to say they were blown away as it knows where it’s sitting by using sound waves reporting back to the device so that’ll it’ll adjust to any room setting. On another note. This is is limited for now. If you don’t think Apple won’t open the HomePod up to other apps and add new features then you obviously don’t know Apple. For now if you can be a little patient until Apple releases updates this year and can just admire the sound quality the HomePod has then its for you. It’ll eventually be able to connect to other devices within time. Everyone just has to be patient. That shouldn’t stop anyone from buying a speaker to listen to music via Apple Music, iTunes and Spotify. Overall, The HomePod is an incredible sounding machine. Apple spent 6 years in development to get the sound perfect and they did just that. Now they will focus on updates throughout the year to improve what’s already THE best sounding device in my home. Go get one especially if you’ve invested in iTunes, Spotify and Apple Music!!

I didn’t expect something this tiny to change the vibe of my space so much, but the HomePod mini honestly surprised me. The sound quality feels way richer than its size should allow—like a little sphere that somehow ate a full-sized speaker. The bass isn’t overpowering, but it has that warm punch that makes music actually enjoyable, not just background noise. What I’ve loved most is how effortlessly it blends into daily life. I use it when I’m cooking, working, waking up… even for things as simple as checking the weather or setting reminders. Siri responds faster than I expected and doesn’t require me to scream across the room. Bonus points for the intercom feature—I didn’t think I needed it, but now I use it all the time. The design is clean and cute; it pretty much disappears into the room until the light comes on. Setup was literally a “tap your phone” moment—no drama, no 20-step struggle. If you’re deep in the Apple ecosystem, it feels like a no-brainer. If you’re not, it’s still a great small speaker with surprisingly big sound. For the price, I’m honestly impressed with how much value it delivers.

Amazing sound quality. When you use as a stereo pair with Apple TV it changes the experience of watching tv and takes you to a whole new level. Highly recommend this product. You can also simply tap your phone to it and the music you were listening to on your phone just hops over to the speaker

If you are looking for a perfect companion to fit into your Apple music world you'll loveeeee Apple HomePod. HomePod sounds very good. I was a bit skeptical since I was really happy with my Bose Sound Link Mini II, but after playing few songs the speaker proved what it is capable of. The speaker as expected out of premium Apple product is designed so well that it blends in perfectly & its capability to sense movement and adjust the output to suit the surrounding ensures you get the best sound quality no matter where you place it. Siri is very responsive(no need to shout or yell) and is able to perform majority of the actions(Turn on/off switches/lights, weather forecast, alarm, reminder, etc.) that I used to ask Alexa to do. Go for it if you are looking for a great sounding, beautifully designed, well-built speaker!!

If you have as many apple products in your household as I do, the learning curve on taming this little monster is a few days long. (This is my first experience with wifi speakers) For the price and size, the sound is amazingly good. It's very sturdily made and looks good in the room. I'm adding several more to experience the full capabilities of the tech. I have an elderly hard of hearing relative, and this speaker's been great for her. It connects to the Apple TVs and to her iPad when needed. The sound is clear and full and she has no trouble hearing it. Once you learn how to speak to the Siri who lives in this little guy, it natively accesses your podcasts and Apple Music, and with a few more well-chosen words, is able to stream Spotify playlists from your phone, computer, or Apple TV. As a bonus it measures the ambient temp and humidity where it's seated. If you're ambitious, you can teach it to control your whole house! Baby steps.
