Very fast CPU! Screen resolution is perfect. Tons of apps to download. While I like the design of the new lightning port better than the old port design, I feel that Apple should have included an adaptor with the iPad. A lot of people think that. The new port causing all old port-based accessories to be obsolete, without an adaptor, is not very thrilling. With as much money as I paid for this product, I would think that including the adaptor would be the least that Apple could do since I am forced to have to purchase a $30 adaptor to allow my older accessories to function with my new iPad. But that is just my humble opinion. And Apple pricing the adaptor at $30 is a little ridiculous, I see $10-15 being more reasonable. Other than that complaint, I really like my new iPad 4! It is a great product! Another suggestion would be to have stereo speakers with a little better sound quality and volume built in to the product. One last suggestion would be to have more color options available for the iPad, like the iPod nano. I know dark silver would look really sharp. Having more color options could possibly increase iPad sales, just my guess. That also goes for the iPhone.

My ipad it is a great electronic because I can use it in my office, at home, parties, on my trips, sports, etc

This iPad was gift to wife (63 yrs young, no experience with computer of any type). Since this is her first experience as computer user/owner, I will provide the product review. My expectation for the iPad was for my technically challenged spouse to play with it a couple hours, get frustrated then I would have a new toy. Unfortunately (for me), wifey has stolen my gift to her! She has found the iPad to be easy and fun to learn to use (e.g., is light and cool compared to my laptop). Operation of the touch screen and on-screen keyboard is intuitive and responsive (she hates my laptop keyboard and mouse). I observed her making some errors when trying to touch small controls (text input boxes and "buttons"). She has difficulty operating the volume control. Suggest checking this out at the store before purchase. I was concerned about the lack of a USB port. There is one "port" for charging. Given a cable, you can connect an SD memory card to this "port." Might be able to do other things. If attachments are important be sure to check this out. I also got her a stylus and Bluetooth keyboard... she has never used either ($120 wasted). Suggest holding off on such accessories until determine if really needed. As a lifelong Microsoft user I was concerned about the Apple iOS. The iOS is completely invisible. The user interface is intuitive and user friendly. Before purchasing, suggest browsing the iTunes store to see what you can do with the iPad and what that doing is gonna cost ya. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of utility software and educational apps.... dirt cheap. Concerning the iPad models: In my wife's case, the relatively low mass storage (16gb) will not be a concern, if she needs additional storage (photos etc.) we will use online storage (iCloud or other). In other words, keep the cloud in mind when evaluating your storage needs. I cannot tell the difference between the Retina display and the base display... paying extra for the Retina might have been a waste. I can't provide feedback on any differences in processing capability between the models. Concerning the buying experience at Best Buy, I did not find significant difference in price elsewhere. The iPad comes with ZERO hard copy or installed documentation. There are manuals available on the Apple website. I purchased a Geek Squad support option when I purchased a laptop 4 months ago. The Geek Squad support extended to the iPad. One attribute of this service is online how-to videos, I used the videos, quite helpful. I have also used the included telephone support, it was helpful. In summary, in our case the iPad is a good fit. The hardware cost more than some other tablets, but the software costs will certainly be lower.... also, it works great and the wife is happy. Only major negative comment is my wife won't let me play with it.

this is my first ipad and i can say i am glad i bought one. i spend 5-6 hours a day on it and it is very easy to use and makes my life easier since i can carry it almost everywhere and check on many things. It also takes beautiful, clear images and i can't imagine myself one day without it. battery life is also very good

In my opinion ipads are still the best tablet out there. I have a microsoft surface as well, and it can't compete with the ipad. The ipad is lighter, faster, much easier to use and doesn't run into the function issues that the surface does. I just wish Apple would sell it a bit cheaper, but considering supply and demand, I doubt it will happen.

I use an iPad (mini) for business and personal use, so I bought this one for my wife. She is NOT a geek, nerd, or in any way a technical person. She has tried to use a PC in the past, with little success. In fact, she has trouble operating anything more complicated than a TV remote (and even has difficulty with that, where the DVR is concerned). I noticed, however, that the one piece of technology she seemed most comfortable with, was able to use with confidence, and actually enjoyed using was her iPhone. So... when her birthday came along, I decided to take one more shot at getting her into the wonderful world of computer technology. I bought her the full-sized iPad, and she loves it. What's not to love? The Retina display is incredibly sharp, the battery lasts longer than she's likely to need it to, and most of all, it's a very intuitive device to use (just like her iPhone) -- just touch, slide, tap, flip... the screen is responsive and fast moving. Her collection of photos looks soooooo much better than it does on her phone, music sounds great, TV shows and movies look amazing, and (most important of all) she can access all of those features without any help from me. She's finally surfing the net, checking the latest news and even doing a little online shopping, and I even heard her talking to Siri the other day (for those who don't know her, Siri is Apple's personal digital assistant, who talks to you and answers spoken questions -- an amazing AI simulation). Bottom line: If you know someone who is technologically challenged who would really like to get into the web and the rest of the digital world, tell him or her to get an iPad, and do it in style.

Upon staying in the 7 inch android tablet market, I finally decided to buy an iPad and it's just such a jump ahead! I had a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and a Nexus 7. They were just so deprived of good, tablet optimized apps. I was shocked at the standby time of this thing, I believe it can literally last 3 weeks just sitting there. And while you're using it the battery goes down so slow! It was a very pleasant surprise, as I only have to charge it once every 3 days! The cameras are very good! The back camera has autofocus and gives very nice images. The front camera is the new Facetime HD camera which also produces very nice quality images. The iPad overall preforms extremely solid with no hiccups or lag at all. Apps do crash from time to time however. The speaker is very loud and has a very good sound. I do miss the small form factor, though, of the android tablets I have, but it's not such a deal-breaker. Then again, there's always the iPad mini available at a much more affordable price point. You will love this tablet because there is an app for everyone! I am extremely pleased with my purchase and look forward to seeing how Apple will make it better. (If that's even possible? ;)

This tablet is very lightweight and easy to carry around. I bought it because of the many apps available. Since I have lost my voice to ALS, I use a type to speech app available. It allows me to speak in support groups. The sound is high quality. There is an app for anything you can think of. The quality of the screen is excellent. I import pictures from my digital camera and the quality is excellent. I play music on it while reading a book on my iPad. I enjoy reading on my iPad rather than a paper book. I am very pleased with the easy setup on my iPad. I also enjoy playing the games and reading my email. I love it.

Nice improvements since ipad2.; Retina display, longer battery life, easier to plug in charging cord, screen easier to wipe off & faster operation. Love all it can do. First thing I open in a.m. & last thing I check before bed. thanks for changing my life in a very positive way!

This was an upgrade from an original Ipad and the differences between the two are pretty astounding from the picture being more crisp to the battery life. The Ipad is a pretty amazing product and if there is anything to complain about it would be the price. Having said that I do think its a great value in that it works incredibly well and will quickly become an integral part of a lot of things you do. You can read books like a Kindle, watch movies like a tv or you can hook a bluetooth keyboard up to it and use it like a touchscreen computer. It is simply one of those products that seems fluffy and useless until you get one and use it. Once you do you find dozens of uses for it until you can't believe you ever lived without it.

Get with it and get one! I also have a Mac laptop but the iPad size is super convenient at home or in the classroom. I love the keyboard size-compact and easy to read. Everything opens in a flash with my AT&T MiFi wireless 4g-love the security factor of having my own access wherever I go and using it at mom's house where there is no wifi. Easy to carry in my purse and use anywhere. Can't wait to use it in the classroom in the upcoming school year. I use both apple and PC computers but favor apple and the iPhone and the iPad. You won't regret it-GET IT!

I have had a great experience with the iPad, I love the messenger app, FaceTime, and all the other apps that you can download. Now that I have made the switch from an android tablet to an Apple iPad I'll have to make the switch from an android powered phone to an iPhone, this iPad has really made me an Apple fan. Over all I am glad I made the switch to an Apple product. There are a few things that I am displeased with. When they do updates to the operating system it seems as if they don't care how the apps interact with updates. They also don't seem to care after the update is complete that the user has no idea that they changed the interface between the user and the iPad. One of the other things that I am truly displeased with is the camera on the iPad it appears that they have used an old camera instead of using an updated version. I still would recommend an iPad to friends.

I have one of the first models and have now given to my daughter to watch movies on. I upgraded to the iPad4 to get the camera and better picture quality. It has been a very nice upgrade for me. I really like apple products because of their ease of integration into my system. The only issue I have ever had with Apple is their price on things. I waited over a year to upgrade just because I did not want to spend that amount of money on something. But as always I eventually spent the money and bought a new one. I really do not have much to say other than it works just like it is suppose to and no issues what so ever.

Extremely fast and responsive, syncing it with iTunes is pretty easy same as an iPod/iPhone. I can charge it up once a week just about the battery is very good. Nice loud little speaker, magnetic sensors that turn the device on when you open the cover show off its high end design. This device also uses apples most powerful mobile processor to date: the A6X which allows the full use of its retina display and 1080p video recording capabilities both front and back. Hands down the most advanced product on the market

Yes, ipad is one of the most expensive tablets, but it is worth it. Quick response when using it, battery power lasts a long time. Easy to use and very clear picture. Get a good screen protector to keep it looking good.

If you are going to buy a tablet, invest in this one. It's a little pricey but well worth it. It takes awesome pictures. The battery life is great. Also is lightning fast. It's also easy to set up and navigate.

This iPad replaced a laptop that I was using when the family was watching TV and I needed to get online but still enjoy the company. The iPad just plain works, is lightweight and the battery life is great. This device is fast and the screen is crystal clear. I am not one to use a full size iPad to take pictures or videos on vacation so the camera is is not something that I find important. I have some issues with the iOS, especially with having only one app visible at a time and having to go back through home to switch to another recently opened app. For web surfing, emails, and playing games, the iPad has been a big productivity increaser. And my lap doesn't get hot anymore from a vintage 2007 laptop!

I personally prefer the older iPads over the mini and air just because that is my preference. The iPad is the perfect size for me and it's easy to work and learn on perfect. Also this is a great gift for any college student as it's lightweight and compact to travel with.

The Apple ipad is a really a cool device. It is easy to set up and use, excellent screen quality and features. The one problem that I am having now is that after a new wireless router was installed, the device can no longer find my printer, even though it printed just fine before this. I tried every solution I could think of, even calling Apple support, HP support and Time-Warner support, but no one could find a solution. This is very frustrating and I am no longer getting my full use of this device. I also think that the cost of this device is excessive considering it still has kinks to be worked out.
