This was purchased for my 13 yr old son whom previously had a Android based phone and ONLY used it for games. Since he wasn't interested in the phone/texting aspect of the phone this IPod Touch 5 was perfect! Very easy to use platform, clear and detail graphics, slim and compact (a case purchase is HIGHLY recommended). I've never had a Apple product myself however, this IPod Touch 5 has swayed my perspective on Apple products. By the way, it does have a front and rear camera. That feature was important to my son.

iPod 5 is lighter and thinner than previous ones, difference in speed is noticeable. 5mp camera and Siri adds more value.

It has become a tradition in our family to get an ipod on the 16th birthday. My third son's birthday was no exception. We had a problem with the ipod we purchased. It did not work on the fourth day after purchase. The Best Buy clerk's ignorance of warranty policies aside, we did exchange it for a new one. This time he got a blue one instead of black and he likes it very much. So far, no problems with this ipod.

The ipod is very light weight and the headphones that came with it have a great sound. It easily plugs into my car without having to do any type of linking or programing. Loved the space grey color. The best part about the ipod is that you can't go wrong when giving this gift no matter what age the recipient may be.

I love my new iPod touch! I had the 1st generation iPod and this is such an amazing upgrade! Worth the price and of course Best Buy price matched it so I got an even better deal.

Music Performance:- The sound quality is average but definitely enjoyable for casual listeners. I have a Cowon C2 which I have been using with the Apple EarPod and the sound quality is crisp and clear. I'm sure the iPod touch is capable of delivering better audio output but you would have to install another music app with sufficient audio customisation options. I wasn't impressed with any of the music app that I found on App Store but if I find a good one I will update this review. After trying couple of music apps and even after purchasing one I am still not impressed and will stick to my Cowon as my primary music player. This is not to say that the audio quality is bad but for me after experiencing the clarity of Cowon it feels like taking a step back. The one music app I would recommend after trying half a dozen of them is SoundFocus the audio output is good and the interface is very easy to navigate. Interface:- The iOS interface is beautiful and easy to learn being an android fan I do miss the back and menu keys, I feel it is easier to navigate in Android then on iOS. The real drawback is the screen size, the 4 inch is good enough for a portable media player but for iPhone with it's premium price tag I think it's just ridiculous. Most of the apps that I checked (except for the ones created by Apple) had a cluttered interface. Performance:- Web browsing on the safari browser is really smooth, I tested 2 desktop websites which are very heavy, one is PhoneArena and the other is TheVerge, on my LG P765 which is a mid level phone the desktop versions of these websites create serious lag and if mobile versions of these websites is loaded with lots of images like a mobile review article then it often leads to page/browser crash. iPod Touch however handled these pages easily, no lag, no crashing the only spoiler for me is the 4 inch display but performance is great and I think you can expect similar reliable performance in gaming as well as when watching videos. iBooks:- Apple doesn't sell any books in India. Although there are a number of free books in the iBooks store by popular authors but they are very old books. Fortunately you can install Google Play Books and if you have purchased books on android then you can use the same account to download the books on iPod. Conclusion:- As a music player I can't recommend this, especially taking the price in to consideration. I bought this for web development testing so I don't really care about using this for anything else. I would recommend people to buy a dedicated music player from Cowon,Creative, Sony, etc and invest some more money and buy iPad Mini. Writing this review from iPad Mini 2 and trust me you'll get your moneys worth with the iPad.

I got this for my 17 year old grandson for Christmas and he absolutely loves it. Downloading and setting up the device is user friendly. In addition to its music function, it's fully loaded with many other features much like a cell phone except you can't make calls. This is his first Apple IPod, he's had other types of mp3 players but none compares to this one.

I am amazed at the technology of this product. It is light weight, high definition and smaller than the first generation iPod that I was using. I was really bummed out that I had gotten my old iPod wet and it stopped working. Thought I was going to miss my old iPod NOT. I am enjoying my new iPod.

This ipod is really nice. It puts the previous generations to shame. Having front and back cameras is nice, plus the newest iOS makes it able to run all the newest and most up to date apps. Battery life is excellent.

Bought for my 8 year old and he loves using it to listen to music, play Minecraft, FaceTime and iMessage. Needs Wi-Fi to work for some features/apps but he uses it all the time. Great for a kid that wants a phone and the parents don't feel that they are ready for one yet. highly recommend.

My kids both have the IPOD Touch 5th generation and love it. They often are encouraged to use it in their school systems and use it always on trips and to fall asleep at night. They like the design much better than the original iPod itself , and like the advanced apps and space it has.

My daughter loves it! It takes great panoramic pictures too. She took it to the Grand Canyon this year and got an amazing shot of me AND the whole Grand Canyon as the backdrop. Easier than ever to use and helps keep up with all the new updated Apps like faceboook and instagram..

Since I bought this product I haven't been able to get off! It's so much fun, I can play games, check my email, surf the web, and see the newest weather forecast. It's almost like having a smartphone, other than no 4G or texting apps. But, you can get an app if you need to.

I bought both my sons an ipod 5th generation. They loves it! Never had any problems with them and it keeps them busy in a world of technology. They use it for games, videos, pictures, research and school. Great product, great deal with Best Buys price match!!

Nice upgrades from the ipod 4 , especially the camera. ...seems easier to navigate as well as store, upload / download new applications. ...Only issue was sales associate never mentioned that the ipod 6 was coming out in about 1-2 weeks after my purchases (bought 1 for each child (2)...when realised 6 was out return period was up...will say with the exception of no mention of new 6,associate was very knowledgeable and helpful. .
