Light weight which is what I wanted. I can also use the stand easily. It shuts of my iPad Pro when closing.

I am very disappointed with this apple product that I bought at Best Buy, see that the case has handprints that do not disappear, it is a product of poor quality, I just threw away money buying.

I’ve had this folio case for my beautiful 12.9-inch iPad Pro for almost two months now and it still feels like a great purchase. The folio has not developed any discoloring or lost its super smooth exterior, which I honestly was a little concerned about given how much I use my iPad Pro. It has kept my device safe and scratch-free since day one. I carry my iPad Pro vertically within a backpack also carrying my 16-inch MacBook Pro and what I love is how easy it is to remove from and reinsert into my backpack sleeve without catching on things as it’s a smooth, uniform piece of material without any sharp corners or protrusions. I’ve also got the second generation Apple Pencil which still is able to keep magnetic hold while this case is in use as the side where you attach the pencil is exposed for your convenience. Very slim, high quality folio. The only thing I can imagine people not appreciating is how the inner felt design tends to leave a lined imprint on the screen where the gaps are on the folding front piece when the folio is closed for some time, but it’s easily fixable by giving the screen a quick cleaning. I don’t think this is the type of protection you’ll want if you’re prone to dropping things or have children as it doesn’t have sort of drop/pressure point damage protection, but if you’re someone like me who takes drastic measures to not let severe drop accidents happen and can feel assured only by the scratch/minor damage protection offered, then you will love this folio.

This is a good option for the iPad Pro (3rd Gen) if you’re looking for a case to cover the front and back of the device, and maintain its slim and sleek design. The outer material is smooth, easy to clean; the inner material of the front cover is lined with soft material that won’t scratch the screen of the iPad. The magnets are strong and keeps the iPad in place. I purchased an off-brand folio case similar to this before but had to return it because the magnets weren’t as strong as this one. There are no protections for the sides of the iPad, so I don’t recommend walking around with it (just in case). I’ll be using this iPad mostly for digital art and streaming videos, which will keep it placed on a desk most of the time. In addition, I’m storing it inside a sleeve (similar to ones used for laptops) for an extra layer of protection and when traveling. I do wish that it came with more color selections and not limited to 2 positions for propping up the iPad. Protections on the side would have been a plus. It’s pricey given that it doesn’t give 360 degree protection for the device, but I decided to keep it because there aren’t much options for cases yet. I imagine by early next year there would be more available in the market, but for now this is will do.

Convenient, simple protection. I like the way it magnetically attaches. Stays in place, but easy to remove when you want to hold your iPad without a cover. Props up for easy reading, or for watching a movie. This cover is ideally paired with a screen protector, since dust and other contaminants can easily makes its way between the front cover and your iPad screen. This could mean micro-scratches in the long term. This case does NOT provide any fall protection. More for around-the-house protection.

Does a good job of shielding the front and back of the device when in use and when traveling, but definitely not one for if you have a habit of dropping your device. I think it is too expensive for what it is but it does a good enough job as a stand and protector that it's worth investing in if you aren't getting a heavy duty case or you're actually careful with your $1000 device like you should be.

Light weight durable material. Installs very easily as it is magnetic. Just lay iPad on Folio and viola! Also allows you to prop up iPad. Not sure if it comes in other colors besides charcoal grey but this color matches both iPad colors. Magnetic side holds Apple Pencil. Turns on iPad when you open it up. Outside Cleans up easily with damp cloth. Thin and light weight. Excellent product though high priced.

I prefer Apple's products when it comes to cases, but they're definitely on the expensive side. This folio is wonderful, as long as you don't expect it to protect your iPad. It adds zero bulk, and the magnets are strong enough to stay shut or open however you arrange it. My only problem is that these cases tend to wear out in about six months if you frequently use your iPad or take it in a backpack here and there. For $99, I would expect at least a year out of these. They should make them out of leather and charge a hair more. Then they might last a couple years and actually be worth the price they charge. As it is, I usually buy open box ones whenever I get the chance at a significant discount.

highly functional and esthetically good for my 12.9 Ipad. both front and back cover magnetically attached, open, and close. Folio cover will not interfere with charge cable nor apple pencil attached. Front cover folds up to provide the stands for two position: lower for writing or higher for viewing. Only downside of this particular cover is lack of corner protection. Corners of Ipads are exposed and will not be protected at all if dropped on those corner surely break considering the size and weight of the iPad! I surely could have gone to 3rd party option to save few bucks as well as more protection, but wanted esthetic and functions. Overall i am happy with this product.

The Apple Smart folio case is a tricky review. It isn’t horrible by any means, but it really isn’t that great either. And for $99, I feel as if it should be great. Pros: Protects Ipad Relatively thin Back magnet are strong Good viewing angles as a stand Cons Pricey Material doesn’t feel premium Front magnets attaching to screen are not strong Doesn’t protect Apple Pencil Slightly uneven construction when top is folded onto back Conclusion: As a stand and protective case, it does the job. However, for $99 it doesn’t offer many features of less expensive folio cases.

I normally dont review products but I think its important to let everyone know about this case since when I was looking for a case I couldn’t decide if I wanted this one or the one with the keyboard. My last ipad pro had the keyboard and it was also the 12.9 inch but it just felt too heavy. It was clumsy. Also I already owned a macbook so in reality the need for a keyboard was pointless for me. I opted for this case with no keyboard for the new 12.9 ipad. Let me tell you I couldnt be happier. It makes the ipad as thin as possible while adding protection. The magnets keep it attached very well. No more having the smart cover come off. Apple makes the best quality cases hands down. My iPad now feels lighter and more portable which is what I was looking for. I only used my ipad for travel and this case has just been great. It also allows additional positions than previous versions because of the magnets. The smart keyboard is only needed I believe if you are really trying to use your ipad as a laptop. But for portability this case is it! It protects the back of the case which the previous smart cases lacked.

I liked using this case to protect my iPad. It was nice and light. The magnetic back kept it in place and allowed easy removal. The foldable front creates two ways to stand the iPad in landscape. If you don’t need a built in keyboard than this case works well. I bought a Bluetooth Logitech keyboard to carry since I don’t need a keyboard all the time. It you want a kick stand with different angles or the sides protected than this case falls short.

Since I've had iPad's, I've always bought the Smart Cover from Apple and then had to spend a lot of time looking for a case to cover the back that is also compatible with the Smart Cover. I'm so glad this has now came to an end with this Smart Folio! I purchased my new iPad 12.9" 3rd gen (2018) from Verizon. After I ordered it, I immediately ordered this case. The great thing about it is that it complements the form factor of the new iPad perfectly. With it being "boxy", like a previous model of the iPhone, the case forms over it well. Since the edges of the iPad are no longer curved, this case allows the beautiful edges of the new iPad to shine. They are exposed, but I don't feel they are at risk of being scratched, etc. Also, there is ample space on the side to attach the new Apple Pencil 2 to. Altogether, while it's expensive and I much rather have seen it as leather instead of silicone (for the price), I'm loving it. Plus - it's super easy to keep clean! If you want a single solution that fits your iPad snug (all those magnets) and like a glove, this is it.

This folio is the perfect fit... keeps the integrity of the IPad and its form factor. I love that it magnetically attaches to my IPad while keeping it from being bulky and unmanageable. This is a true hybrid case!

I used many cases before and they have been bulky, heavy, ugly. After trying this folio I am not going back to third party covers. I like how it maintains is sleek shape and weight. It opens and closes easily. The magnets are strong and keeps the case closed firmly. It may not have the protection of a 5 foot drop but it’s very functional. I don’t have to worry because I take care of my products. The position it hods are perfect and I don’t need any more angles. This folio does everything I need it to do.

This cover was just what I needed to protect my iPad. Not to bulky and has a nice design.

It magnetically attaches and covers the front & back of the iPad Pro (3rd generation) leaving 3 sides uncovered that make it convenient to stay closed when attaching the Apple Pencil 2 and connecting a USB-C cable (ex. for charging). The triple fold front panel can be folded to make the iPad Pro stand in a landscape position or to raise it at an angle about 3 inches.

great cover fits exactly perfectly easy to use a little pricey

Having a built-in holder for the Pencil would be the only recommendation. Slim cover, always puts the device to sleep when closed (some third-party copycats don't do this). Durable, won't wear out quickly like many cheaper options. I hate Apple's premium pricing model but they are worth it when it comes down to it.
