The Studio Display XDR has superb build quality which is what I have been looking for in a sea of aesthetically unpleasant higher refresh rate monitors. This being a miniLED display over OLED is a plus considering I need something long term and reliable, great for text, and brightness.

Been waiting for 120hz forever. I would buy another one. Wait, I did!

I had a 27-inch iMac before this, and for me HDR is probably the biggest difference. It really changes the experience, especially with photos and video. I think this is simply where displays are going now, since phones and TVs have already been moving toward HDR for a while. After around 10 hours of use I calibrated the monitor. To be honest, I didn’t see a big difference before and after calibration, which is actually a good thing. It seems Apple does a pretty good job with factory calibration. I also tested the panel for uniformity. The biggest difference I found was in one corner, where white measured about 2.4% different from the center. I tried to see it with my eyes and couldn’t, even when I knew exactly where to look. Color and brightness are excellent on my unit. I should mention that this is actually my second one. I returned the first monitor because I just didn’t like the way the colors looked. Even after calibration, something still seemed off to me. It was difficult to put my finger on exactly what it was, but I noticed it every time I used the monitor. The replacement does not have that problem. Interestingly, the first one actually tested a little better for uniformity. I use this monitor for video, photos, coding, reading and regular everyday work, and it has been excellent for all of them. For me, the most important upgrade is finally having a desktop display that makes working with HDR practical, not just something I can view on a phone or TV.

If you’re looking for the absolute best monitor on the market right now, this is it—plain and simple. The Apple Studio XDR display completely blew me away. The 5K resolution is incredibly sharp, colors are insanely accurate, and everything just looks…alive. Whether I’m working, watching content, or just browsing, the visual experience is on another level. The 120Hz refresh rate makes everything feel buttery smooth, which you really notice once you’ve used it for a while. Build quality is exactly what you’d expect from Apple—clean, premium, and rock solid. It looks just as good on your desk as it performs. Yes, it’s expensive. No way around that. But if you care about top-tier quality and want the best of the best, it absolutely delivers. This isn’t just a monitor—it’s an experience. Bottom line: expensive, but worth it. Easily the best monitor I’ve ever used.

Coming from a casual user - The display is definitely a bit on the pricey end in terms of a display but if you can afford it, it feels absolutely luxury.. The regular studio display is great, but this is a step up.. 120 hz is a game changer for me. After being sensitized to that being the norm, I can't stand seeing the lag on a 60 hz display. Mini LED gives great contrast and the peak brightness is more than enough for any enviroment. XDR content is beautiful. I bought this display for the dental office for the radiology features for reviwing CT scans because of the new radiology present. Very neat feature. thank you apple. I am considering a second display for a dual display setup.
