A: You can choose not to activate the cellular. Then it would work just through the Bluetooth connection to your iPhone. That would be the same functionality as the watch without cellular connectivity.
A: GPS means that you have to have your cell phone with you to use cellular services like texts etc. The watch relies on the cellular service from your phone. The watches that also have cellular themselves (in addition to GPS) have their own cellular service and number. You designate with your carrier which device it is paired with. So when you receive a text message to your phone number (of your phone) your carrier (Verizon, ATT) automatically pushes it to your watch. No need to have your phone with you. So you could go for a run and leave your phone at home.
A: If your Apple Watch is GPS/Cellular it should not disconnect. I've left my phone and drove to another city and it never disconnected. If it is not cellular but its linked to your iPhone, you will see a red x at the top of your watch when it disconnects.

A: Stainless steel will hardly ever rust or corrode. It also has high resistance to temperatures so it will stay durable in high temperatures, aluminum gets weaker. Aluminum will corrode much faster.
A: The bands themselves don’t have any functionality so as long as the back of the watch is touching the skin all features should still work

Perfect for workouts!
I purchased this watch to keep track of my workouts and am not disappointed. I have the cell service so I don’t need my phone at all. This has replaced my phone for most of the day. It is super easy to setup/use. It is a little expensive so I definitely splurged on myself but I have zero regrets!!!!

Perfect!
I bought this open box and it came in perfect condition. The set up and transfer from my series 3 to the series 5 was very easy. I’m in love with the aesthetic of this watch and since I skipped out on the series 4 I do want to note how beautiful the ring is without the big red dot on the side and the always on display. I’m so happy with the purchase I made. If you have a series 3 or older I’d consider upgrading but a series 4 wouldn’t be a big upgrade to the series 5.

Upgraded for Christmas
Upgraded for gift. Liked the overall additions to the Series 5. (GPS Cellular, additional Heart Rate, Compass, Elevation, and more). Added the screen protector to avoid cracks and/or scratches. However the item the salesperson suggested really does not seal 100%. A little disappointed in that. The battery life is not as great as reports indicated. Definitely needs to go on charger every night. Volume on watch for calls is not as loud as thought.
