Following in the footsteps of ARC Audio’s PS8-50 DSP amplifier would be a tough act for any product engineer. Yet, the engineers at ARC Audio have taken the evolutionary step in engineering technology, in-house design, overall sound quality and performance with the ARC Audio Blackbird DSP Amplifier. The Blackbird comes in an OEM-location, installation-friendly chassis design, sized the exact same as its predecessor, the PS8-50. Equipped with all the latest advancements, features, and acoustically transparent benefits of ARC Audio’s Pro Series DSP platform, the Blackbird will easily fit under a seat or in a storage compartment of almost any vehicle. Capable of over 1,000 Watts of combined power across 8 channels of bridgeable amplifier speaker outputs, the Blackbird delivers between 75W – 250W of power per channel (depending on your configuration). As with all ARC Audio amplifier models, these power ratings are continuous power ratings (real music power ratings) and are conservatively rated assuring you get more power than the published rating. 8-Channels @ 4-Ohms (Ch 1-8): 75 Watts 8-Channels @ 2-Ohms (Ch 1 - 8): 125 Watts 4-Channel @ 4-Ohms (Ch 1-4 Bridged): 250 Watts Amplifier Frequency Response: 10Hz - 30kHz Fuse: 3 x 30 Amp DSP: Built In Processor Resolution: Fixed Point Native 32-Bits Sample Rate: 96kHz/192kHz Analog Inputs: 8 ch. The ARC Audio X2800.8 DSP is an 8-channel Class-D amplifier with an integrated 12-channel DSP, engineered for modern OEM integration and active system design. Built around an Analog Devices ADAU1462 32-bit processor and AKM Velvet Sound ADC/DAC architecture, it delivers low-noise signal conversion, precise tuning control, and flexible routing in a compact chassis. Eight bridgeable amplifier channels provide 50 W x 8 at 4 Ω or 85 W x 8 at 2 Ω, with the option to bridge for up to 170 W x 4 at 4 Ω. A 10 Hz–22 kHz frequency response and up to 8 V of RCA pre-out voltage give installers the bandwidth and headroom needed for high-performance speakers and external amplifiers. The onboard DSP offers 12 channels of processing, 4 assignable RCA outputs, and a full toolset for crossovers, EQ, delay, phase, summing, and mixer routing, all managed through ARC Audio’s DNA software. The X2800.8 DSP accepts up to eight balanced analog inputs (RCA or speaker-level) with 0.5–32 V sensitivity, plus a digital coaxial input supporting sample rates up to 96 kHz. Auto-sense turn-on, adjustable turn-on/turn-off timing, and a remote turn-on output simplify integration with factory and aftermarket electronics. iDatalink Maestro AR compatibility allows direct communication with select OEM source units while retaining factory features and enabling channel reassignment inside the DSP. A compact footprint, triple 30 A fuse bank, and fan-assisted cooling make the X2800.8 DSP suitable for under-seat, side-panel, or OEM-location installations where space and airflow are limited. With 8 channels of power, 12 channels of DSP control, and robust OEM integration options, it is designed for real-world multi-channel and active front-stage systems where tuning accuracy and reliability matter more than marketing hype.
