Art vs. Science - Magic Fountain - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

It's about it being bigger than yourself, says Art vs Science's Jim Finn of their epic 2015 album, Off The Edge Of The Earth And Into Forever, Forever. InchAbout appreciating the insignificance of life, and so appreciating life more - stepping away from the mundanity of everyday existence and looking at the bigger picture.Inch Grand words for a trio of Sydney dance-pop nerds. But as Art vs Science - Finn, keyboardist and co-vocalist, drummer Dan Williams, and front man and multi-instrumentalist Dan Mac - have proven profoundly adept at harnessing the power of a collective. Since Art vs Science's 2009 debut EP spawned major hits 'Parlez Vous Francais?' and 'Flippers', the band has been eagerly embraced as radio and festival favorites, with an uncanny knack for unifying the masses with their feel-good live-dance rock. With two EPs, Art vs Science and Magic Fountain, going platinum, their gleefully schizophrenic debut LP, The Experiment, debuted at #2 and went on to win the band an ARIA for Best Independent Album in 2011. It could easily be said that veteran musician and dance music producer Amos Larkins has been involved in more projects over the years than most of his contemporaries, and has helped to define key advances in the Miami music scene with his cutting-edge style that always seems to be ahead of the curve in so many ways. His influence on the scene cannot be overstated. Back in the 1980's he almost single-handedly invented the genre known as Miami Bass and in turn influenced a whole generation of young hip-hop artists. Since that time, he has worked with artists in multiple genres, constantly expanding his knowledge of the latest trends and always manages to bring something new to the table. His latest project, Valhalla Life, Amos dives deep into the synth-wave sound, bringing his formidable musical expertise, and manages to create a new approach that expands the genre in a unique way that defies all expectations. The Miami based session vocalist Olivia M. Prieto contributes mightily to the project and proved to be the perfect foil for Amos' unique vision. Hopefully, this collaboration will lead to many more down the line. Album Tracks 1. Angelistic 2. Be Myself 3. Crystal Heart 4. Down the Digital Rabbit Hole 5. Illusion of Love 6. Let's Go 7. Digitally remastered and expanded edition of this 1990 EP from New-Yorker Ben Cenac, who was also member of electro pioneers Newcleus. His approach is perhaps slightly more sci-fi in the synths and pad sounds, and perhaps a tad less crafted and mercurial in production, but this adds in realness and charm. This record could be studied in university as the synthesis of the deep-house scene of the early 1990's. Album Tracks 1. My Love Turns to Liquid 5 22 2. Breathe Deep 5 33 3. Mystery of Love 5 16 4.
