ACV is just not up to par with its predecessors (Origins and Odyssey). It adds unwelcome gameplay elements (fishing, for one) and the majority of the game is basically a repetitive treasure hunt. It has its amusing moments and the story gets carried forward, but it doesn’t make up for far too many liberties in the historical material (apparently women made up half the fighting armies in tenth century England...who knew?) and an unexceptional leveling system, not to mention NUMEROUS bugs which range from somewhat annoying to practically game-breaking. If you stick mostly to the main story, you should be able to finish this in about 50-60 hours. The platinum, however, was a 140 hour grind for me, with some equipment that isn’t attainable until postgame (which I assume will be useful in the future DLC). Honestly, I’d advise not buying the season pass edition until you’ve seen if this is your cup of tea. I’m a big fan of the series, and I’d say this is easily the worst of the bunch since Unity.

The steel case had a few dents in it so that was disappointing . But the game is really fun. One of my only complaints about the game is how the treasure chest shake when you open them. Combat is cool and fun. The raiding is cool. However I do miss the warlike battle from odyssey.

Love the theme of the last few versions of Assassin's Creed. Not only are you able to play from different time frame, but you might also learn something while playing.

Some features were removed from Valhalla that were in AC Odyssey; like selling armor and the extra loadout. This didn't make the game worse, just wanted to point out the two things this game is missing. That being said this game is AMAZING. The story is great, and I'm not even through the entire campaign yet. I am super stoked to see how it continues to play out. I have not yet been disappointed by this AC.

The game is just amazing, ever since Origins and I’m a big fan for the turn Assassin’s creed series have took with the last three games including Valhalla , the story line is so well written and the gameplay is perfectly optimized with 2021, graphics are supposed to be extra incredible with next generation consoles. The only downside was BEST BUY DELIVERY: I preordered this game and I was supposed to get it on the day it launched, the game was on the shelves in best buy and I didn’t receive it until 4 days after, tried to cancel my order and just get from best buy in store but I couldn’t.

So right now, the game is a little buggy, there is a wolf friend ability connected to a quest that I didn’t get after finishing the quest and I’m too far into the story to restart just for that. The game has crashed a few times so it needs a couple patches still. In spite of that, when the game runs like it’s supposed to. It is a fun game. I like the story and I like the free roam. I am very much attached to my settlement and the fighting is fun now that I got the hang of it. All in all a well put together game. I’m looking forward to the planned DLC.

Like all assassins' creed games this one has great graphics and gameplay. The playability is almost exactly the same as in previous versions with a new story being told. Interesting new ideas directly related to the Viking/Norse culture which make this version unique to previous versions.

I love this game! I personally enjoy the newer open world direction these games have steered toward. This one is massive, hours upon hours of playtime. Also a great skill tree allowing for complete character customization reshaped anytime you choose.

I wasn’t sure if I liked Valhalla at first. It seemed kind of slow in the beginning. Some of the quests weren’t too exciting. But after I got about ½ way through it- it became more fun and interesting. I played the all the main quests, Asgard and Jotenheim. I only played one mystery and one world event. Need to check more of those out. It took me 63 hours to play what I finished. I raided all the main raids but still wasn’t able to fully boost my settlement. So you have to seek out more regular chests in the world than I did. I wish I knew to save many of my materials until later in the game- especially to boost health, upgrade weapons, and upgrade my arrow quiver. I didn’t like the present day stuff- wish they’d just abandon that altogether. But it wasn’t that much of the game. The most difficult boss for me was Goodwin. It took me quite a while to finally beat him. He was harder than Basim or Fenrir. I did not seek out the Sisters- so I can’t speak to them. Overall I ended up feeling quite happy with the game. I’m glad I spent the time with the game that I did. Granted, I loved the first AC games much more. But this is a great game by itself. I’m hoping the DLC expansions will be just as good. Overall I recommend it if this is your genre of games! One of the best of 2020 after Ghost of Tsushima, and waiting for Cyberpunk!

My favorite Assassin's Creed to date. The action RPG genre suits the series well, and as one of (maybe) six people who care about the modern day storyline, I thought the writing was excellent. I'm looking forward to the DLC.

I am about 10 hours into AC: Valhalla and really enjoying the game and story so far. The game looks absolutely amazing on my PS5 at 4k and plays very well. If you are a fan of AC and vikings then you should def pick this up.

I love this title! Its too bad that they can't remove the whole "Animus" thing. I think the last 3 titles would have been so much better if they just focused on the historical aspects and just left out the whole memory synapses aspect. To me it just doesn't fit like it did in the earlier titles. It feels forced, blocky, and cumbersome. Besides that little snafu the game to me is perfect from the crisp clear shiny graphics to the dynamic gameplay and all the fun historical facts and addictive mini games and treasure hunting. Its just a really fun game!

In Assassins Creed: Valhalla, you play as a viking in a sprawling open world, looking for a new home for your clan to grow and flourish. Need I say more?!
