A: The Asus C523 is a new 2019 model that came out in the last month. This particular version on the Best Buy site is the C523NA-DH02. That version is the basic one. It does NOT include a touch screen, even though the BB website says it does. It is a fine Chrome book though with an aluminum chassis for durability. The version with all the options is the Asus C523NA-IH24T. That premium version has the same chassis, but instead of a Celeron N3350 CPU dual core CPU it has a considerably faster Pentium N4200 four core CPU. It also has a sharper screen. The DH02 has a non touch screen display with a 1366x768 (720p) resolution. The IH24T premium version has a 1920x1080 (1080p) full touch screen display. There is also a difference in the solid state storage size. The premium version C523NA-IH24T doubles the eMMC storage from 32GB to 64GB.
A: In my opinion Chromebooks in general are better for everyone doing basic tasks (including senior citizens); they have built-in virus protection and are much more secure than a Windows laptop - great for browsing the internet, checking email, watching Netfilx, and using the included Google Docs and Sheets (comparable to Word and Excel). They are easy to use, different in some ways than Windows, but the same in a lot of other ways. The batteries in these also last much longer than a Windows PC. Keep in mind with a Chromebook to fully utilize it, it requires an internet connection (doesn't work well off-line). I have not done much with games, but I know there are a ton available through the Google Play store (same games available for Android devices).

A: The Asus C523 series of Chrome Books is a new 2019 model released in the last month or so. There are multiple variations of this same basic model to choose from. The one attached to these questions is the base model... the C523NA-DH02. The model that has all of the upgrades is the C523NA-IH24T. That premium model includes a considerably faster 4 core Pentium N4200 CPU instead of the base model's Celeron dual core N3350. It also upgrades the display from a non touch screen 720p , 1366x768 resolution one, to a full touch screen 1080p, 1920x1080 resolution one. The description of the base model on the BB site states it has a touch screen. It does not, that is in error. The premium model also doubles the solid state storage from 32 GB to 64 GB.
