The ASUS AX6000 Dual Band Wi-Fi 6 Router worked exactly as advertised, great product and support from ASUS. A bit disappointed w/ Best Buy, I week after I purchased they sent me a $30 off discount to buy this same product. When I explained I already purchased and asked for credit, they ghosted me, disappointing.

I’ve had ASUS routers for nearly 20 years. For some reason this one’s terrible. I believe I have a defective unit but am 2 weeks outside of the return window. Long story short, my internet and WiFi connectivity became completely unstable and unreliable, I didn’t believe it was the new router and checked everything else on my network. But after finally going back to my old ASUS router everything is stable again. I run 2 ASUS RT-AC88U’s as ai mesh nodes and have been for a few years. I’m in a remote location and use a Netgear hotspot for internet service using external antennas, checked everything, rest everything to factory settings and tried weekly to see if I could get a stable network again. My original ASUS RT-AX88U suffered a lighting strike and took out 7 of the 8 Ethernet ports, so I figured I would upgrade to the newest model this unstable, unreliable unit. First off the BestBuy website advertised it as having 8 Ethernet ports, it did not, it only has 4. I debated returning it for that reason but was able to make do with only 4 and ended up using an old netgear switch for the 4 extra ports. After weeks of struggling, I went back to my old ASUS RT-AX88U, which was a major pain in the butt as I had to re-initiate the ai mesh nodes for the 2 ASUS RT-AC88U’s. Everything seems stable again and seems I’m stuck with this unit. Unfortunately I don’t get to focus on it everyday, for the most part it worked most of the time, but whatever is going on with it, I can’t figure out or remedy. Firmware was updated, but this unit or model just doesn’t perform half as reliable as my older (non-Pro) version of this router. Buy at your own risk, I used to live my ASUS routers, but this experience is making me wonder if I need to try another brand. I’ve spent way too many hours trying to effectively troubleshoot a brand new router (31 days old as of this posting). The closet Bestbuy for me is over an hour away, so it not very convenient for me to just drive over. The most difficult thing for me is I can’t seem to pinpoint exactly it’s strange behavior, it really had so many random issues that I’m just wondering if the units too new and they haven’t worked out all the issues yet in firmware updates? Sometimes the GUI would just lock up, sometimes the WiFi would just disconnect, sometimes WiFi would be on and the internet would disconnect. Thing is I could never predict when it would happen, it would seem good for a few hours then start acting up. When I finally got to the point of swapping out the router was after watching a movie over my WiFi network paused twice in 2 hours, I never had that issue before, I knew it was the router, I swapped it out and now back using my old router.

Great router the only caveat i have with it is that it is mildly difficult to get the most out of it.

I would give it a five star rating if it wasnt so big. The router works perfectly and the app has a great layout and easy to use. The only down side is the antennas on the side. It adds quite a bit of width and made the placement a little harder than my older router. I would recommend this product but make sure you check the measurements with the side antennas installed.

This router was the perfect upgrade. It covers my whole home 1st, 2nd, and outside area. I run on 1gbps with multiple devices connected (5-9) and this router delivers flawlessly. Absolutely worth every penny plus with WiFi 6 I do not have to concern myself with an upgrade for a little while.
Needed a new router. Saw the reviews for the ASUS AX6000 and figured I would give it a try as my old router was not performing. This router knocked it out of the park- fast, the guest wi-fi works well and has great distance.

Upgraded from the RT AC86 which is also a very good router. The 2.5 G port gave me better throughput at 600mbit even though not at the limit yet. Also was able to use 2 lan ports to NAS for 2nd multi gig connection. AI mesh workes great with my old router. Terrific upgrade and currently working with 54 clients

Kinda pricey but this one router covers my entire house, basement to the 2nd floor easily. Without a doubt one of the better routers available especially when you flash it with merlin firmware.

Great features and is easy to set up and configure. I had a router provided by my ISP and it always dropped signals. This is way better.

Until Wi-Fi 7 actually gets proper adoption, most of my devices are still going to be Wi-Fi 6 and below. This is basically the ENDGAME Router for Wi-Fi 6. Performance is flawless and the inclusion of a 2.5 Gig port is very clutch, especially at this slowly but surely lowering price point. Here's to many more years of operation from this beast!

Latest powerful specs for wifi 6 on the market. Rember ASUS keeps the firmware updated for along time. That equals security and performance.

Very fast router. I have 1 Gbps Internet and I consistently get 700+ Mbps at a location two rooms from the router. 4 stars because I need to reboot it once a week to have it running reliably. Otherwise it would stop working from time to time.

I paired this unit with two Asus ZenWifi XD6 units in an AIMesh configuration, using Ethernet backhaul. Couldn't be happier. Full coverage in 3000+ sq ft house plus front and rear yard. Highly recommended.

I have a larger house and my router is in the front of the house, this helped get wifi to the farthest cornee from router and a pretty simple setup

Upgraded from the ATT uverse gateway provided wi-fi to this and we don’t have any more issues with more than 25 devices connected to wireless anymore

Perfect for my needs. I use this as my main router and put the eero mesh system behind the Asus router firewall so I get full bandwidth and speed back to my music studio room on the other end of the house. Love the Asus interface and controls.
