This has some amazing qualities but some frustrating issues as well. Just so you know, I'm coming from an Asus Zephrus G16/Intel Core i9285h/Nvidia RTX 5080 which I bought at Best Buy as well. I only upgraded because I needed a 4K screen and wanted the better graphics card for video editing which is what this laptop was for. Here is the good: * The Screen is super bright and has amazing colors * The build feels excllent in your hand * It's incredibly fast * In Premiere Pro, I can edit 6K 10bit 420 Open Gate timelines with 4k 30p to 4k 120p B-roll on top with playback set to full...unreal!!! * With the touch screen disabled and G-Helper loaded I'm getting about 7.5hrs of battery life which is better than I expeceted. Here is the bad: * Palm rejection is really bad and it's starting to affect my productivity. When I'm answering emails or writing on this large touchpad, my palm always moves the cursor and then I'm typing in a new place. It's really frustrating and hard to avoid with such a big touchpad. It mainly happens on the right side because it's hard to get my hands over to the home keys without hitting the touchpad with my palm. * The Laptop always feels warm even in non taxing tasks. My G16 always felt super cool to the touch and only got warm when really going at it on Premiere Pro. It might be an AMD vs. Intel or rtx 5080 vs. rtx 5090 but I wish it ran cooler when the processor and graphics card were not stressed out. While I think I'm going to keep it, It's a really hard laptop to recommend. It's also hard to find something in this form factor with these performance levels and at this price. Getting something from Mac would be massively more. So because of the issues I don't feel loyal at all to Asus and if something better comes along I'll buy it and sell this.

One of the best laptops available. Screen is unbeatable and it’s touchscreen. They also crammed a 5090 in this thin form factor along with a top tier AMD cpu that already has great iGPU and AI performance. MSFT forces vendors & users to go Windows 11 and it’s not good at all. Any issues with the laptop will most likely be with this not good OS and not the hardware. Only gripes and hope Asus improves on these in the future: 1.). Gets a bit warm, but I don’t know of a 5090 laptop that doesn’t. Hope they continue to use top tier discrete gpus and actually improve on cooling system instead of using liquid metal or dumbing down the performance. 2.). They should do full individual RGB on the keys and let user decide on whether to turn off or go all white or other colors. 3,) use better metal for the construction, it’s not military grade and it can chip and scratch like a macbook pro. 4.) offer a 18” version and use full normal keyboard layout with the numbpad 5.) let users upgrade the RAM instead of soldering locking them in

This is by far the best laptop you can buy right now. The screen is amazing! Deep blacks and still gets very bright. The best mobile GPU you can get and a good cpu. Build quality is solid. The only cons are that it gets really hot! (So does every mobile GPU computer though). Make sure you pair it with an extra laptop fan to keep it cool. And obviously battery life sucks! (Same as any gaming laptop). It’s basically just a built in UPS and isn’t meant for taking on the go

The PC is one of the best that I have had. The display is wonderful. The speed is great. Battery life is very good. I would buy another one for sure.

The laptop delivers on its promises. Before buying, a few reviews mentioning excessive fan noise worried me. Looking deeper into it, I realized that could happen under heavy usage and demanding tasks (which, frankly, happens with any laptop). It never happened to me, even when running multiple editing programs simultaneously (LR, PS, and Affinity) and focus stacking 40MP TIFF photos. Maybe the laptop is noisier when editing video, but for me, it has always been very quiet (even quieter than I expected). My only negative experience was a GPU conflict issue. Despite explicit instructions not to delete the files on SSD 2 (which does not contain an operating system), the laptop came back from warranty service fully formatted (with zero need to format the second drive). I made sure to attach a sticky note upon drop-off at Best Buy and called both Best Buy and Asus directly. Everyone confirmed they were aware of the request, yet the device still came back completely formatted (and with a dent on the outer lid). In the end, Best Buy gave me a new replacement laptop. Since then, I haven't had any further issues or conflicts, though I still need to push the replacement machine through more intense use to double-check. Overall, it's an excellent, well-built device. Don't be fooled by the 5090 label. In a chassis like this (Pro Art), its power has to be capped to prevent overheating. Between that and the fact that it's a laptop GPU, don't expect desktop-level 5090 performance. A much more honest comparison would be to say this GPU performs like a 4090. Not bad at all for an extremely thin, well-designed, compact laptop built for creators. If gaming is your main focus, there are bulkier options with better airflow available (more suited for the job, and pricier too).

As home audio recorder and mixer - very quiet - glad went with this model over previous ‘souped up’ Alienware that would launch LOUD fans at the most inappropriate times. Still need to put this new one through tough paces - but so far - fast, sleek, and QUIET.

Great design, great build quality, amazing screen, great performance.

Not sure where to start, screen is gorgeous! Build is solid and feels premium. The graphics and detail are out of this world. Keypad feels great with great travel. I don’t like the Price! But it is premium……

Wow got this as a Xmas gift and I’m so excited. Touch screen memory is amazing and the computer is just what I needed. I do photography and the memory and speed is what I need

Exceptional laptop. Unbelievable screen resolution, beautiful color saturations, speed, space… it has it all.

Absolutely terrible keyboard. Too flat/flush and strangely height, no other keyboard feels this spaced out and hard to type on. Fresh install constantly freezing/locking up every few seconds. Screen has feature that dims when you look away or turns off and cant turn it off. Game performance terrible/laggy/stuttery. The tandem screen isn't that crazy bright. The Asus pen 2 doesnt work with the massive touchpad. Battery life is okay. About 6-7 hours unpluged doing emails and 50 minutes gaming. On high settings, runs so hot it will shut itself down in about 30 minutes. Even on low settings, games run terribly (Marvel Rivals, CS 2, Oblivion remastered) Even very low requirement games like Halls of Torment don't run smooth on this. Strange issues where windows keeps updating with no notification that it downloaded anything.

I love most things about this laptop, it can handle almost everything I throw at it, but it has one awful and critical issue - during some sleep cycles it becomes unresponsive and refuses to wake up! When this happens, nothing works except a hard restart. This happens about once every 24 hours after the last restart. This makes it impossible to do any ongoing work sessions on it. For serious projects, I can't recommend it.

I love it, I keep it on a fanned cooling pad so I don't notice the heat and I have it always plugged in and on max performance - it's pretty Linux compatible (at least with fedora and Ubuntu) and drivers and optimizations are coming pretty often. The two 2tb ssd setup makes it great for dual booting and not having to worry about partitions. Would definitely recommend

Pretty satisfied with my purchase but needed to drop one star off because it gets incredibly hot and the battery life is poor. Knowing the specs before hand I figured it would run a bit hot but it can actually be painful to the touch especially if you try gaming on it luckily for photo and video editing it does very well and I use it mostly plugged in anyway.
