A: It's looking like Oct/Nov '26. The 64gb 5090s just aren't being made in preference for the more profitable options: 1) Nvidia is actively prioritizing RTX 5080 over 5090 — one 5090 uses 32GB of GDDR7, which instead makes two RTX 5080s, generating more revenue per chip. 2) RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell (datacenter card) earns Nvidia 41% more revenue per GB of GDDR7 than the 5090. 3) Nvidia confirmed gaming GPU production is being slashed 30–40% through H1 2026 (through June) I actually had an order placed and accepted by Asus and then it was canceled within 3 days. If ASUS can't get the parts from Nvidia because they're not making them, we're all stuck. Then there's to say once they are made, who in the world gets priority and where does that get distributed out to? Will it make it as far as this one niche model?

Needs to be cooler and have better palm rejection
This has some amazing qualities but some frustrating issues as well. Just so you know, I'm coming from an Asus Zephrus G16/Intel Core i9285h/Nvidia RTX 5080 which I bought at Best Buy as well. I only upgraded because I needed a 4K screen and wanted the better graphics card for video editing which is what this laptop was for. Here is the good: * The Screen is super bright and has amazing colors * The build feels excllent in your hand * It's incredibly fast * In Premiere Pro, I can edit 6K 10bit 420 Open Gate timelines with 4k 30p to 4k 120p B-roll on top with playback set to full...unreal!!! * With the touch screen disabled and G-Helper loaded I'm getting about 7.5hrs of battery life which is better than I expeceted. Here is the bad: * Palm rejection is really bad and it's starting to affect my productivity. When I'm answering emails or writing on this large touchpad, my palm always moves the cursor and then I'm typing in a new place. It's really frustrating and hard to avoid with such a big touchpad. It mainly happens on the right side because it's hard to get my hands over to the home keys without hitting the touchpad with my palm. * The Laptop always feels warm even in non taxing tasks. My G16 always felt super cool to the touch and only got warm when really going at it on Premiere Pro. It might be an AMD vs. Intel or rtx 5080 vs. rtx 5090 but I wish it ran cooler when the processor and graphics card were not stressed out. While I think I'm going to keep it, It's a really hard laptop to recommend. It's also hard to find something in this form factor with these performance levels and at this price. Getting something from Mac would be massively more. So because of the issues I don't feel loyal at all to Asus and if something better comes along I'll buy it and sell this.

Asus magnum opus laptop
One of the best laptops available. Screen is unbeatable and it’s touchscreen. They also crammed a 5090 in this thin form factor along with a top tier AMD cpu that already has great iGPU and AI performance. MSFT forces vendors & users to go Windows 11 and it’s not good at all. Any issues with the laptop will most likely be with this not good OS and not the hardware. Only gripes and hope Asus improves on these in the future: 1.). Gets a bit warm, but I don’t know of a 5090 laptop that doesn’t. Hope they continue to use top tier discrete gpus and actually improve on cooling system instead of using liquid metal or dumbing down the performance. 2.). They should do full individual RGB on the keys and let user decide on whether to turn off or go all white or other colors. 3,) use better metal for the construction, it’s not military grade and it can chip and scratch like a macbook pro. 4.) offer a 18” version and use full normal keyboard layout with the numbpad 5.) let users upgrade the RAM instead of soldering locking them in

The GOAT for Windows laptops!
This is by far the best laptop you can buy right now. The screen is amazing! Deep blacks and still gets very bright. The best mobile GPU you can get and a good cpu. Build quality is solid. The only cons are that it gets really hot! (So does every mobile GPU computer though). Make sure you pair it with an extra laptop fan to keep it cool. And obviously battery life sucks! (Same as any gaming laptop). It’s basically just a built in UPS and isn’t meant for taking on the go
